? Building a 4g Network Building a 4g Network Technology Selection In the design of a 4G Wireless connection infrastructure, this project makes use of a Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA). We thus emphasize more on ways of expanding a wider coverage and utilization. The main aim is to maximize the use of internet services and the speed at which the internet connection operates in support of the communication across the wireless channels. The 4G wireless networks is expected to provide data access at approximately 85 percent in speed by statistics, above the initial network connectivity, to make it about sixty percent of daily average internet access in the United States. It is expected at the same time to deliver an increase of approximately eighty two percent of high-speed network connectivity, and a 19 percent increment of subscriptions of mobile platform. From the inspiration by Gardner (2009), this technology also aims at minimizing the operational cost of the connection deal that has been won, and to enjoy the fact that there is no barrier in the use of laws, technology and language, political limitations and rules which have to be of major emphasis to the organization. From the earlier studies, it had been revealed that the internet connection can be used to establish more advanced data communications. Empirically, the network is ideal since it can revive the falling position of the company. Considering the cost factors, there are massive plans to invest a lot of funds into the up-and-coming 4G connection and high standard Long Term Evolution (LTE). The advanced TDMA technology will not only be a source of revenue for the USA business, but will also raise a lot of interest in practical areas that can be applied to the construction and implementation of the 4G network as an upgrade from the previous versions, 3G. The installation of this 4G network will focus on popularizing its use in the US. Selection of Equipment for the System The tests of the TDMA network gives data reports on the behaviors of the equipment right from the manufacturers to the requirement of the fourth-generation (4G) measurements, using both the single instrument and integrated instrument system solutions popularly applied in the U.S. It will serve the purpose of satisfying the growing demand for quality services and solutions such as voice, video and data communication. It is clear from the discussion by Browne (2009) that the 3G technologies have not been able to provide the solutions. The technology in this plan is a 4G series of network that uses the Long Term Evolution (LTE) wireless technique. One of the requirements will be wireless signal analyzers which are able to support devices of 2G and 3G specifications. This project views both the technical and analytical aspects of the higher standard requirement in the 4G technology, with the aim to increase the connectionless radio frequencies of the signal analyzers designed for use to support this 4G network. The design of these systems together with the corresponding software is planned to be the foundation for the Long Term Evolution 4G wireless connection. Long Term Evolution in this context expects the subsequent telephony Generation to be made up of mobile broadband technology. Data transfer takes place at the rate of 100 MB per second. Devices Required In order to solve the coverage issues that have been identified in the preliminary studies of this project, the fundamental device that will be required is the signal analyzer. Secondly, the 4G network will use Nokia cellular phone handsets versions that can support the GSM, TDMA and CDMA protocols. Using the idea from Lecklider (2009), the connection will require wireless connection channels of at least 30KHzs and speech coding devices. It will also require a modulation device that works with modulation of Differential ? / 4 – QPSK. Other devices include Smart Antennas, which essentially imply antennas stationed in the base connection station and cancelling the interference using digital signal processing. The 4G Network system will require power control system for the base station to be able to transmit sufficient power needed to reach the mobile connections with adequate quality of signal in order to minimize the interference. Again, it is very essential for the network to have a Discontinuous Transmission device because Mobile devices support transmission only at the time the users are speaking. The discontinuous transmission system will minimize the interference in the 4G network system and maximize the up time for talking on the mobile connection. The preliminary studies reveal that there is an already functioning 800 MHz TDMA competitor of a cellular nature in all the 16 cities of coverage. However, the existing coverage resisting issues together with very high costs and lack of wireless data transmission services are major challenges to solve in the created new complex system. The fact that the nation has awarded 2 sets of business licenses to our firm and another firm enables us to launch a deployment to provide cost-effective telephony communication service and internet connection to the citizens. The operation of the new system will be maintained at 800 MHz or 1900 MHz frequency. Telephone calls will be set on the frequency band between the two frequencies to manage the communication traffic. Architecture for TDMA Frame 1 Frame 2 Frame 3 ….. Frame x - 1 Frame x The diagram above clearly demonstrates the architecture of the Time Division multiple accesses that use the mobile cellular telephony framework. Base stations receive and transmit digital signals from the mobile devices within the coverage of the network area. One spectrum can be assigned to more than one base stations in a situation known as spectral reuse. Each service area of the base station is in most cases just termed as a cell. Each mobile device or terminal receives services from the base stations (cells) located closer to them. There is a variety of cellular telephony services working under the Cellular network, which is typically, a radio-based technology. Antennas usually transmit and propagate electromagnetic radio waves. The transmission from the antennas within the base station usually ranges from 850 to 1900 MHz in the frequency bands. The architecture works by dividing the communication time into slots. Only a single mobile terminal does the transmission in every slot. Each time, only one slot does the talking and leaves others to take different turns while each user is allocated a slot. There is no competition in cellular telephony network. Cost and Benefit Analysis Analysis of the projected considers the cost items in two categories; one-off payment and standing monthly payments. The standing expenses include the cost of procuring the equipments and designing the architecture of the new network system. The fourth generation wireless technology is advantageous compared to other generations of wireless communications because it provides high speed connectivity at very low charges. It will prove cost effective to the 16 cities and the citizens of the nations in that they will gain from the long term benefits of wired internet. In choosing the distributed architecture for this wireless internet, there will be a structured list of components that upon which costs will be attached to realize the success in producing the wired internet connection. Although there are no rules and policies governing the cost and benefit appropriation of the system, all the cost parameters of the 4G wireless connection will have to ensure that the benefits outweigh the expenses before the project can proceed to the approval stage. Even so, the preliminary studies provide a framework for establishing estimates for costs and the expected benefits of the new network. The estimates are shown in the structure below: Cost Item Estimated Amount ($) Site Acquisition 54000 Devices and Equipment 4000 Connection Usage 5000 Services rendered 2000 Other miscellaneous Costs 2500 Total Cost estimate 67500 The connection will have to develop a mechanism of using multiple IP addresses in the same network to enable many clients to access and use the common applications on the same connectionless network. It cannot use an end to end peer network, in which all devices act as transceiver and at the same time routers or repeaters for other available peripherals in the connection. This essentially eradicates the weaknesses of the poke and hub of the cellular network architectures, since it eliminates single node and hence it never disables the wireless network. The other advantage of the 4G technology is that it will support users in joining the wireless network and add more movable routers to the wireless connection infrastructure. Considering the load of work that users have to bear in the network, the capacity and network coverage will have to shift dynamically in order to accommodate the changing patterns of users. The benefits of the network system to the cities are an increased speed, which is able to propel its profitability and the benefits of the stake holders by between 80 % and 85 %. While the users of the network create massive demand of pockets, they create more routes to enable more access to the carriage capacity of the network. Users therefore will dynamically move from the high traffic connection routes to the less congested routes. This enables the wireless connection to dynamically balance the network capacity and maximize the network utilization. It is clear that some of the devices will become virtual routers and form part of the infrastructure of the wireless telephony network. Using a cellular telephony infrastructure, the network users may not add any value to the network. Fundamentally, they become mere consumers which are fighting for chances to use the same resource. However, in the newly proposed wireless infrastructure, the network users decide on equal chances to allocate to each other concerning the usage of the network resources. To that effect, the network services are bound to gain popularity, causing its users to increase in number. This is because of the increased popularity of the network for all system users. Cost Proportionality We follow the 80% and 20% rule which requires that at least 80% of the entire project cost should belong to the site acquisition combined with installation. It means that only 20% remains for the application of the technology and other minor costs. Of course, the inflation of land costs and labor costs makes the installation expenses to rise with time, causing the business model of the network service providers to bring certain critical issues. As time goes, the cost of technology is expected to reduce; making the present business model to be able to gain more profits with time. The costs of acquiring devices also fall with time. This enables the service providers to gain from the economies of scale, by being able to extend the infrastructure savings to the network users, further increasing the penetration rate.
