Internationalization of various sectors and industries has proved that globalization is almost inevitable, yet it is met with certain limiting factors. These factors result into the most evident indicator of difference, cultural diversity. I think that the important thing to do is to identify the major contributors to this global cultural diversity. Subsequently, I agree with Liu et al. (2011) that development of sound knowledge and intercultural communication skills is essential. My perspective is that technological advancements in communication and transportation contribute to reshaping of lifestyles. They are the feature through which most international businesses have grown and through them, different cultures have been brought to the global table for everyone to see. Resultantly, the globe has become more culturally knowledgeable and sensitive. According to Liu et al. (2011), other major contributors include global economy, international mass movement of people and business transactions. With this apparent element of cultural diversity, I see the necessity of developing intercultural communication skills. To appreciate differences in culture, there has to be a formal way of communication that is agreeable to the international society. I think that it has the benefit of multiculturalism where there is tolerance for cultures and acceptance of equal societal participation. The benefits of intercultural communication skills only prove that cultural diversity is a good outcome of globalization after all. I, therefore, propose that cultural appreciation and celebration should be supported and promoted. Significantly, as a student in business administration I have gained due advantage on my practicum as I can now address issues in a significantly persuasive way such that decision making becomes simpler. In my view, this change depicts an extensive revolution in the manner which culture itself is comprehended. From the observation of actual events, I can clearly note that one key rationale for language study is to manage in comprehending and being grateful for the culture of individuals speaking that language. Significantly, my English teachers advised me, that when I studied English I could understand a word or a sentence within the large text by understanding the whole text. In fact, I remember this method when I read what the author wrote; that speech events take place within the large context of speech situation. In this regard, and as a previous language learner, I am with the opinion that language education comes foremost, and culture education follows subsequently. Besides that, I have realized that learners must be taught the language so as to accurately value the culture. I as well concur with the phenomenological theories, which connect the human understanding of humanity to the direct human experience. I think this obviously reflects the influence of culture, with respect to perception, because one would recognize that puppies. Significantly, I learnt about the Australian culture through my English program in Canberra. For example, the word “mate” could be said to guys but not to girls. Additionally, I learnt about some of the Australian people values such as single partner hood through out my English course. Concisely I can conclude that individuals over and over again fail to notice how culture can be distinct for all people and. Consequently, I can argue that individuals have over-generalized the results to enormous populace figure below such generally branded culture.
