Western managers who have had previous expatriate experience in a collectivist culture (the Middle East & Asia) will have a higher level of organisational commitment than their western colleagues who haven’t had such experience.Hypothesis 5: Saudi managers who have had previous expatriate experience in individualistic cultures (West) will have a higher level of professional commitment than their Saudi colleagues who have not had such experience.Chapter V presented the results of the data analysis and hypothesis testing.

This chapter provides a discussion of the implications and significance of these findings. The findings will be analyzed separately, and they will also be compared to existing theory and literature. The implications of the findings for organisations will be described. Finally, the implications of these findings for future research will be presented.This study used a variety of statistical methods in order to assure the quality of the data analysis, to explore the demographic variables included in the study, and to test the hypotheses presented previously.

First, frequency tables and descriptive statistics were conducted in order to better describe the sample of respondents. Following this, normality tests were conducted on the four dependent variables relating to commitment. These tests were conducted in order to ensure that parametric tests were appropriate for this data, as these types of tests assume that the dependent variable included in the analysis is normally distributed. Specifically, measures of skewness and kurtosis were calculated for the four variables relating to organizational commitment.

The study data was first and foremost subjected to measures of skewness and kurtosis and all scales were found to be within the range of -2 to +2, which allowed them to be deemed to have a suitably normal distribution. This justified the application of further parametric statistical tests in the data analysis process. Next, reliability analyses were conducted in order to test the internal consistency reliability of these items.
