The hero of the movie is a white blood cell named ‘Osmosis Jones’, who teams up with a pill to eventually save Frank’s life threatened by his poor eating habit. In my opinion, Osmosis Jones is a NEUTROPHILS. They constitute 60% of the body’s white blood cells and are granulated giving a purplish tinge. “The neutrophils are fine, light blue cytoplasmic granules; 3-5 lobed nucleus.”(Alcamo, & Krumhardt, 2004) The reason for labeling Ozzy as a neutrophil is because he dominated the white blood squad and had the same color as that of the neutrophils.

The disease that invaded Frank’s body is called ‘Anthrax’ which is caused by the bacteria Bacillus Anthracis. It is a deadly disease that can affect the lungs, intestines or skin. In Frank’s case, it affected the lungs leading him to experience severe throat ache and flu. He was also prone to the gastrointestinal infection caused by the hard-boiled egg that frank had consumed. Also Frank’s eating habits and the ten seconds rule were pushing him closer to this disease anyways.

The image of this bacteria is given below: (Todar, 2011) What had happened to Frank could happen to anyone in real life because if one continues to dwell upon such unhealthy eating habits he is prone to major illness just like Frank. Thus this movie had a good message in a very unique fashion.
