Company Analysis (Name) (University) Company Analysis Introduction Organization scrutiny involves the review of the environment, operations and development of an organization (Wilensky, 2015). The analysis covers the structure and the design of the organization along with the capacity and the functions that influence he outputs from the organization. Different organizations have different structures based on the size, type and functions that are carried out in the organization. The structures give different authority levels and help in running of the organization. Furthermore, organizations have visions, missions and strategies to guide them in their daily operations and give perspective to the organization. Factors that affect the running of the organization are also imperative as they describe the organization and additionally determine the decisions made by the stakeholders in the organization. This retro respect paper therefore seeks to undertake an organizational analysis using Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in Alberta Canada as the case example. Ownership The three basic type of business ownerships are sole proprietorship, which is owned by an individual, partnership which is owned and operated by two individuals or more and private corporations in which the owners and the business entity are separated. Most hotels are currently owned through partnership and private corporations. The reasons behind these are mostly to foster progressive growth in the industry and reduce individual liability caused by direct ownership of the business. Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is owned by Fairmont Hotel and Resorts, a private company operating under the partnership of Raffles and Swiss hotels. The chains are owned by Kingdom Hotels. The ownership is thus both a partnership and a private corporation. History of the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise The hotel began as a relaxation location for travelers, adventurers and individuals who wanted a mountaineering experience (Malyutin, 2015). The holidays in the hotel, initially Chateau Lake Louise provided for experiences for royalties and celebrities with unique packages such as horse riding and star gazing. The hotel has therefore played a role in Canadian history and remains a famous spot. The hotel still has structures from the previous building such as the Painter Wing but has incorporated modern facilities and more wings to the establishment. Products and Services Offered The main products and services offered at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise are accommodation, dining, events and outdoor activities. There are 550 rooms inclusive of luxury suites and specialty rooms. The hotel has cultivated a rich dining culture in the provision of its food and beverages. The cuisine features local Canadian food combined with other exquisite dishes from different parts of the world. One major feature in the food culture is sustainability where the hotel promotes local live hood by buying farm produce from nearby farms. Inclusive of the dining services are Italian cuisine, afternoon tea service and a children’s menu. Health is furthermore a priority in the production of food as the chefs observe food sensitivity, special diets and nutritional value. Other services provided by Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise include spa services, meeting packages and outdoor activities. Winter activities include snow shoeing, cross country skiing, sleigh rides and skating on the frozen lake. Summer activities and packages are inclusive of canoeing on the lake, mountaineering, rock climbing and horseback riding. There are also fishing and tour activities that are offered in the hotel. The wedding package that is offered is exquisite with good looking spaces for the ceremony and the reception such as the Victoria ballroom, Lakeview terrace and the Larch lounge. The catering services are provided on site and the couple is allowed to sample the menu beforehand. The mission is mostly targeted towards the employees and the management of the organization. The mission statement of Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is turning moments into memories for their guests. This mission is achieved through the goals of that have been set for the organization. Vision Vision statements are important in describing the purpose of the organization. the value is additionally included in the in the vision of the organization. the vision of Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise goes along with the vision of the entire Fairmont Hotels and Resorts vision. The vision of Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is therefore to provide experiences which are original and local in their establishment and provide engaging service. Additionally, the hotel aims to provide a presence that is without rival. Goals The goals of Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise include the provision of quality services to their guests. The hotel ensures that the guests’ fee valued and that the employees are warm and sincere towards the guests. This is achieved through valuing its employees. Employees are recruited with extensive care to get the best talent among recruits who are effective in serving guests. The internal marketing that takes place at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise also ensures that the employees pass forward the marketing process to the guests. The second goal involves treating of every single guest as a unique individual. The third goal requires that the employees foresee the needs of guest and provide for them with a personal touch. The fourth goal seeks to solve any problems that the guest encounter and never decline to help without offering an alternative solution. The fifth goal seeks to fully represent the brand, the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, the community and fellow colleagues. The employees are therefore required to work with the utmost ethics and competently present the image of Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. The sixth goal is simply to make the lives of the guests easier. Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise’s human resource philosophy is particular on the training of employees with in depth programs that deeply orient the values of the organization into the new recruits. Strategy Based on the goals outlined above, the business level strategy of Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is the focus on unique talent required to provide guest services as required by the organization. The strategy involves rating of the talent that they employ and this ensures that they get the best talent in the conduction of their interviews. This strategy is has helped the hotel to provide the best service, making its brand reputable and gaining a competitive edge over other hotels around Alberta. Based on the reviews and recommendations from the excellent services and its worldwide brand, the hotel gets a great number of bookings for its services, products and services. Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise has embraced sustainability as one of its strategies. The entire group of hotels has a complete sustainability program that requires the hotel to engage in responsible business that is committed to sustainability (Malyutin, 2015). Sustainability is a current business trend that is practiced by competent organizations to preserve resources for the future generations. Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise protects the ecosystem through operations that are sustainable such as construction, procurement and the daily operations in the establishment. The hotel for instance does not acquire fish from the lake so as to protect the species from being endangered. Food produced is additionally acquired from the locals and to reduce the carbon imprint caused by importing food. The chefs promote sustainable living by making nutritive food and being diet conscious. Stakeholders Stakeholders of any business are either affected by the business or affect the business (Sadgrove, 2016). This means that they have a vested interest in the business. The five stakeholders of Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise are the employees, the customers, the owners of the property, the shareholders and the environment. The employees of Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise require training and motivating on the policies and procedures of the company as they represent the hotel an influence customer perception and other perceptions of stakeholders. Employees work to earn from their labor. Additionally, the loyalty that Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise employees have towards the brand increases their interest in the success of the organization. Customers need to be given quality services and obtain the value for their money. Through complying with the expectations of the hotel such as payment and other requirements, the customers expect to get the worth of their compliance in return. From the analysis the hotel has a significant overview of the establishment, a fact that is helpful in the making of decisions, making of changes, looking for solutions and provision of imperative knowledge about the organization. The analysis is important for stakeholders too and future investors who want to be associated with the hotel.
