ORGANISATIONAL CULTURE ABSTRACT The essay below focuses on ethics in the business environment. According to the UN Charter there are certain principles that guide a business to be responsible in the environment they operate in. It is therefore important that analyze if the business are more realistic and how the challenges should be overcome. Though no conclusive answer can be write it is important that the issues which include human rights, corruption and labor are key vital and should be addressed. ORGANISATION CULTURE Over the years, the world has become interconnected, where multinational companies are expanding to meet the growing part of the market share and it is such as the growth of the Asian continent and also an African country that it starting to stabilize that much growth is needed. How the world is becoming interconnected does not seem to be a small matter. This has been seen by how companies are affected by the world political decisions. It is, for this reason, important for these companies to follow and be ready to check the impact of it. The United Nations was assigned and founded on June 26, 1945 in San Francisco. Some of the roles of the UN were to foster the relation between different parties and countries economically, socially and also politically. Due to the development and more trade between individuals differences are bound to arise, and it is, for this reason, important that a body come up with rules of engagement [ CITATION Kra12 \l 1033 ]. The specific principles in business touched on the issue such as to be ethical in business and also fight unfair play and disadvantage, also ensure that the world ends slavery of people and also conserve our environment. To solve the problems, tolerance and a sober approach is needed so as to ensure that solutions are found in a win a win situation and it is thus important we try and focus on the specific guidelines that an organization in the 21st century needs to consider to thrive to both the clients and its other key stakeholders. The issue of business ethics or opportunity, has come into question for a very long time for example most organizations from the West that have already made it think it is time they expand to other regions and this Asian countries or even Middle East are always the next destination they visit. They tend to prefer to go to this country that their economies are going very fast so as to get business. In these countries, regulations about corruption are not that strict, and this is where you find such organization bribe their way using government officials to win tenders for their organization. A few years ago, HP Company which deals with computers and laptops, was in the headline for bribing officials in some Asian countries so that they can get business. Such companies’ officials do not stick to the code of ethics due to the laxity of the government officials. They argue that to this country its business as usual. These cases of corruption by multinational have continued to gather momentum in this day and age, are some of the most respected countries in the world. For this reason bringing out the question why don’t they stick to their principles? It is also in a defensive mechanism where they try and bribe the existing government to lock out competition. It is important if this organization, would understand that corruption shouldn’t be tolerated and there is no way that a solution can be solved through corruption and in fact it act as a stumbling block towards the economy of the country they operate in The other issue these companies take advantage is outsourcing some of their services to developing countries so as to make use of raw materials and labor. It is obvious that in third world countries lack of jobs and high poverty levels are challenges that are yet to be solved. Due to high poverty level this people are ready to do this job with fewer wages than in the developed world. The organization has always been defensive saying they are trying to create employment yet the reason is to maximize their profits by infringing on other people right by exploiting them. According to the UN charter exploitation of workers, those who practice it should be brought to book. Also in these developing countries you will find that there is much gender inequality where women are prohibited to doing other roles such as driving. So that an organization to thrive in such economies it is important it formulates their code of ethics before going into that country. They can decide not to hire women who will go and suffer in that country, or they can choose maybe to formulate structure such as ensuring an open transport system for them. It is such transparent actions that can guide this organization in as much as they need profit for their organization they should understand that there are responsible for the better of all in the society. A case here is in the Philippines people working in the textile companies’ work under harsh conditions that human rights condemn yet other organization are not ready to admit. In the principles of UN, no one should be forced to work, and underage children should be given education as a need and basic. It is important if such companies would understand that and help amnesty international in fighting for the right of these children as hiring this children amounts to slavery and forced labor. In such countries, business leaders should be at the forefront in supporting the right cause for these children so as to ensure the organization does not only achieve its goal for wealth maximization for their shareholders but also act to favor their employees and other stakeholders in the society. According to the UN charter, it is important to understand that protection of the Environment and the Eco System we live in is paramount. This has been brought about by the challenges we face as a society where the population is at seven billion people and human activities have continued to affect nature. Organizations such as those in the oil industries have to deal with drilling of Oil in the ocean and it is important that they should be responsible so as, not to have negative effects on the environment. Such organization should also be at the forefront of supporting conservationist and also educate its stakeholders on the importance of our environment. In a case where BP a few years ago were irresponsible when drilling many damages was brought to the environment though not exact figure can be quoted no one can deny that the ecosystem was affected. It is such issues that bring about the concern we should all have. Multinationals operate in different countries, and it is important that they should be careful how they perform as they have a great influence than other countries. It is also important for such organization to find friendly environmental strategies or other options such as building solar panel. Organization can also decide to pack foods in recycle packing. It is a stride in the right direction. Global warming is real, and experts have warned that we risk losing because nature does not need people, but people need nature to survive. There has been tremendous step made by organization, like trying to manufacture electric and solar cars this will help the world to stop in overreliance of oil and maybe demand for oil will drop leading to conservation of the environment. CONCLUSION These are not the only factors facing the organization, in the world today but they are of importance and though some might argue that the government of different nations have a role to play it is important for organizations to understand their influence is growing day by day and they need to take the leadership of this initiative as this is one but an important step and will help more in building strong organization with strong brands. The UN cannot achieve this on its own it needs individuals, government to help and also requires one with a bipartisan approach so as to this the bigger picture[ CITATION Jun08 \l 1033 ]. Corruption kills countries’ economies by allowing what would have gone to the country goes to an individual for this reason robbing others social amenities, jobs or even health.
