Apple Inc. is thought to be among the most highly successful companies established in the 1970s. The authority structure at Apple is decentralized and all the managers are empowered to make important decisions when required. The managers are aware of their roles and responsibilities within the organization and are encouraged to bring in new and innovative ideas. Furthermore, Apple motivates its managers to not only allocate work based on employee interest but to in fact mix up and exchange employees between departments in accordance with the employee needs and suitable fit. Rather than employees being viewed as the manager’s sole possession to employ, fire or promote for the betterment of a particular department, they are instead seen in the framework of the whole organization. A manager does not reduce his/her own authority by shifting an employee to a completely diverse department but is, in fact, identifying and accepting the employee’s capacity to add to the organization as a whole.
The organizational environment of Apple is such that whenever changes are required; they are quick and fast.   ...Download file to see next pagesRead More
