Review Questions Question Organization’s objectives are the long range focus that are setup for the employees to operate for its overall philosophy. These objectives affects the organizational search for opportunities since they are stringent on specific intentions that harbors the focus on the incoming chances a company may have or are tempted to perform.
Question 2
Strategic management provide long term plans of an association geared by the top management .Some of the key elements of the strategic management process includes; strategy evaluation, environment al scanning, strategy formulation, strategy formulation and its implementation. An organization needs to understand both internal and external environment. Thereafter, find the best strategy that suits the specific environment, implement the strategy and afterwards evaluate the outcome, as Henry Mintzberg, (1988) explains.
Question 3
Strategic vision of an association according to Bain and Company provides a an optimal state desires of a company over time. It provides the guidelines on what the company is planning to achieve in five to ten years. On the other hand, the mission statement provides the current focus and reason for existence of a company,.

Strategic management process provides a platform for managing organizational change. Each day, through research and development, companies makes new changes in performance, staffing etc. and its therefore relevant to have the strategic management process which will help in understanding the workforce, evaluation the right strategies to put across and how to implement. This monitoring therefore helps to adapt to various changes that come across.

Leaders plays important role in any organizational change implementation. To have a successful change implementation, leadership ensure that every needed tool for the implementation is availed at the right time, Philips et al.(1983).. Leadership plays an oversight role in ensuring every department tasked performs their tasks accordingly.

According to Kotter’s eight stage model of planned change, the company has to create urgency of what it needs to perform. Through formation of a coalition, the company needs to convince people on the need for change. Having a bigger vision over the planned change is important for the change to be effected since people will know the need for doing something. After identifying the change, the company has to communicate the vision and remove any obstacle that may prevent change implementation. Furthermore, the company needs to have a build-up of the change while short term wins are sought. Lastly, the company needs to inculcate the changes in the corporate cultural environment.

Change is perceived win-lose proposition between leaders and followers because ,the followers usually perceive change as a form of benefit to the leadership body .They tend to revolt any kind of change that may be available. To leaders ,it’s a win since, given their influential roles, they tend to mostly have the followers do as they require. On average it becomes a win –lose proposition.
Question 8
People centered strategies requires that the subordinates are prepared to adjust to any change that may come, being able to implement the change and create the urgency on the need of the change. On the hand, task centered strategies focuses on the need to have strong supporters of the change, availing the relevant workforce through recruitment and using the qualified task forces to initiate the change implementation. This strategies if well instituted will be key in reducing the resistance experienced in many organizations when change is being sort, Whelehan S,(1995).
