Script processing is one of the most traditional elements that is examined socially and personally in everyone’s life. It is imperative to understandthat script processing is a set of defined elements that impact human and cognitive understanding. Just like we have javascript or java in technology world that command a program to do a certain elements, humans are more confined to script processing as well. An example of script processing that I can relate is the fact that when we are in school, we are categorized in a group.

We are confined to a group such as the: gym jocks, the nerds, the goths, the geeks, etc. I think it defies us personally and does not allow us to have our self-identity. I remembered in schools that I used to like drawing and being competitive at the academic level. Hence, I was labeled as a nerd even though I was an active student. Script processing in this scenario means the world saw my identity in a very black and white manner, which clashed against my ideals. I wanted to defy the norms and be my own person.

I had self-confidence within myself and it was frustrating to see that society saw me otherwise. It was clear that this notion of script processing is detrimental to self and society in its own perplexing manner. There is nothing traditional or norm about being an individual, I think we should all take pride in who we are as a person.
