Change Model Assignment Introduction In the present 21st century, several business enterprises have expanded business operations in the international market places with globalization. Businesses organizations with increased overseas business operations are identified to augment market competitions and have changed business environment. Leaders and members of organizations are required to concentrate on different strategies in order to implement the change model significantly. Additionally, leaders of organizations should adopt distinct way of thinking (Chapter 3, n.d.). In this regard, XYZ Inc. a retail chain associated with selling luxury watches, jewelry, and hand bags is required to management appropriately by an executive with the aim of ensuring that expansion of business operations are made successfully. In this context, the study aims to highlight the short-term changes that might be implemented by the organization to expand its business in Shanghai, China. Apart from this, the organization is also required to make different long term changes with the aim of expanding the business in Brazil, Russia, India and China’ s (BRIC) market segments. Discussion In business expansion, the change process plays an essential role to evaluate present performances and future possibilities. Apart from this, planning plays a very valuable role during the change process. An appropriate change model is required to be implemented with the intention of ensuring that the expansion process is conducted successfully. Subsequently, the success of the change model is dependent on various factors that include communication of the urgency of change, type of change needed and effective communication of change plan. In this context, planning and implementation process are required to be managed successfully in order to enhance probability margin of success (Chapter 3, n.d.). The Roadmap for Short-term Change In the present scenario, globalization and advanced technology are the prime factors accountable for business expansion in different overseas market segments. The organization in order to enter the Chinese market segments and conduct business operations successfully is required to ensure that business operations are performed in accordance with the preferences as well as behavior of customers. The market segments of China are developing rapidly with consumers mostly preferring for local branded products and/or services. In this context, the Chinese consumers are identified to have minimum needs or preferences for foreign products and/or services. Thus, it can be evidently asserted that in order to establish a business relation in Chinese market, the organization is required to adopt effective change model to ensure that business operations are conducted on the basis of market demands (Chapter 3, n.d.). The organization is required to understand the preference of the consumers initially in order to expand business operations in the Chinese markets. Apart from this, it will require to identify the level of competition in the market for luxury watches, jewelry, and hand bags businesses (Chapter 3, n.d.). Creating Vision, Commitment, and Capability. The organization should review business process in order to identify the urgency of business changes needed to enhance the quality of the luxury watches, jewelries and hand bags. Along with this, the organizations must need to set clear mission and vision, which might help employees and stakeholders to understand the level of commitment of the organization. Simultaneously, the organization should review the financial position in order to measure the capability of the organization to meet the demand as well as supply requirements (Chapter 3, n.d.). Determine Design Requirements and Desired State and Analyze the Impact. The organization should emphasize towards the design requirements of its goods and/or services in order to ensure the customers are offered with desired products and/or services on the basis of their preferences. Subsequently, the organization is required to determine the type of change to be implemented in the business process, so that operations are performed succinctly based on desired state. Apart from this, impact on the organization should be analyzed through gathering information from consumers in order to enhance business efficiencies (Chapter 3, n.d.). Plan, Organize, and Implement the Change. Planning is highly essential in the implementation of the change process model. In order to introduce a retail shop in the Chinese markets, the organization should prepare an effective planning. During the planning process, the organization should review various factors that include market condition, consumers’ preferences, consumers’ behavior and competitors and accordingly, formulated appropriate plans or strategies. Based on the strategies or plans, the organization should choose the best alternatives among others. Even after choosing the best alternatives, the organization should emphasize towards establishing and implementing the plans adequately, so that business operations are conducted based on market needs (Chapter 3, n.d.). Celebrate and Integrate the New State and Learn and Course Correct. After implementing the change plan, the organization should remain conscious regarding adverting and promotion. Apart from this, the organization has to provide more attention towards sale and distribution operations in order to enhance the performance level. At the same time, the organization should conduct surveys with the aim of gathering reviews from the consumers for better understanding about the appropriateness of the changes implemented (Chapter 3, n.d.). The Roadmap for Long-term Change In case of long-term change, the organization should emphasize towards the five dimensions of leadership and managing change. The organization should practice effective change management by motivating change, creating new vision, developing political support, sustaining momentum and managing the transition (Chapter 3, n.d.). Additionally, the organization is required to create readiness for inculpating cultural differences in the workplace and business processes, so that business operations are performed successfully. Apart from this, the organization should also concentrate towards the level of expectations of stakeholders for effective expansion of operations in BRIC nations (Chapter 3, n.d.). Creating New Vision. The leaders of the organization should assess the past, current and future condition in order to determine the success factors associated with the performances of the organization. Apart from this, the organization should concentrate towards the structural change due to culture differences. Moreover, the organization should develop a new vision in order to enhance the performance level and accomplish the organizational goal (Chapter 3, n.d.). Developing Political Support. The organization should understand the political environment in relation to the change. Several organizations are identified to face challenges owing to the political situation of foreign markets, which adversely affect business operations. Thus, the organization should develop a better political support in order to expand businesses in the BRIC nations (Chapter 3, n.d.). Managing the Transition. In order to accomplish long-term change the organization should design and implement motivating change in an effective manner. Apart from this, the organization should review its own process on a regular basis by collecting feedbacks and accordingly, make necessary changes to enhance business operations in order to implement the transition process effectively. Moreover, during planning the organization has to emphasize towards its management structure and finally needs to implement the plans with the aim of ascertaining that the transition is accomplished based on change management model (Chapter 3, n.d.). Sustaining Momentum. The leaders of the organization need to stay focused towards their role and responsibilities. Commutation is an important tool, which might assist the organization to implement ideas and plans in a more efficient manner. Apart from this, it also helps to gather feedbacks from the stakeholders in order to review and ensure that the entire change model has been implements effectively. Moreover, the organization with the assistance of the communication tool might be able to measure the performance gap on the basis of actual and expected performance (Chapter 3, n.d.). Conclusion From the study, it has been revealed that organization should emphasize towards planning and implementation process. Along with this, reviewing the performance level is also highly essential. Thus, it can be evidently asserted that in order to expand the business operation in the global market, the organization should adhere these factors, which can helps to accomplish short-term change and long-term change for effective performances of business operations in overseas market segments.
