In organizations, there is always a necessary force which pulls management for minor or major changes in order to maximize its profits. For this paper we have selected McKinsey & Company, the world famous management consulting firm. The paper will discuss historic changes in the organization and identify change models it used. The company operates under a ‘one firm policy’ which requires all consultants to be hired and advanced on a organization-wide basis, all clients be dealt as McKinsey & Company responsibilities, and that firm’s earnings be distributed from a ‘firm pool’, not an ‘office pool’.

At present, within the organization there is more emphasis placed upon expanding geographically and new practice possibilities, and less emphasis on technical development and professional skills.
