Nonetheless, individual skills and abilities are also a central driver of team success (Mackall 2004, p. 7). But who effectively channels the skills and abilities of the human resources to a productive outcome? In many cases, the varied people comprising a team come with different skills, backgrounds, and motives. And this diversity is important in building the human and political aspect of the organizational environment. As a manager, one has limited ability to change the environment drastically but but is within reach is the ability to respond to the changing degrees of effectiveness (Newton 2011, p. 53). A good constituent of the leadership skill is the presence of an understanding of the highly networked business and organizational environment and a deeper understanding of its dynamics and the relationships between various nodes or individuals in this case.
Leadership is not specifically for human resource managers or just the top management but smaller project groups must also have a team leader that directs tasks in a coordinated fashion. For this, it is important that managers know their role (Newton 2011, p. 55). Thus, I begin with my evaluation of the working teams. Although the teams are quite skilled and able, they lack the necessary foundation that is provided by good leadership. Of course, every individual works in his or her capacity but to efficiently convert the efforts into productive outcomes is a major part of a leader’s job.
Since leadership skills are deficient in many team works, the result is a delay in completion times that often yield incoherent outputs despite hard work and potential. Lack of leadership is a key factor in explaining the incoherent outputs. Leadership skills and personal development are therefore a critical aspect of team works as leaders play a pivotal role in reconciling the tasks of the team mates. Another identification
