Miscommunication in most cases lead to improper information discourse. Drawbacks in communication may rise from differences inherent in culture, language as well as generational differences. In the following discourse, the paper delves into the relevance of the above in miscommunication between teachers and students.

Context There is the occurrence of what has largely been referred to as the generational change. The advent of the new media has brought with it new possibilities. This has led to a developing a wide gap between teachers, most of whom belong to the previous generation, and their students, who embrace the new communication technology thereby creating a divide between the two.
