Task: Assignment 5 HR departments are always crucial in companies despite the doubts from other quarters on their relevance (ElMaraghy 56). In other words, it is essential for a company that seeks for success and prosperity to invest in a competent HR department for the purpose of employee motivation and development. In the same aspect, HR should also overlook the grievances and disputes involving workers and management in order to maintain harmony and productivity. Apart from issues of HR, there are also issues involving manufacturing and operations that are paramount for companies in order to reduce dependence from other superior companies. The essay explores such issues, and why MBAs shun such important sectors of the economy. There are various importance and centrality of HR departments in today’s chaotic and competitive world. For example, HR departments are tasked with the employment of both personal and group psychology for the purpose of committing workers to the attainment of organizational objectives. Similarly, it is the role of HR to strike the link between the company and the workers through retention and development of workers (Hunter 78). Alternatively, in order to keep with the current competition, HR departments assist in the decision making through constant communication with the General Management on the fundamental goals and objectives of the company. In the same aspect, there is the element of injecting inspiration in order for maintain the low worker turnover rate. Furthermore, HR ensures there is proper management and training of workers in the organizations through different ways. For example, assisting managers becoming better managers is crucial when establishing the relationship between workers and managers. In other words, this helps in the prevention of distractions that may lower the morale of the employees. On the same scope, HR teaches the management on how the management can effectively deal with employees through prevention of unnecessary conflicts and disagreements. HR also ensures the management puts their whole focus on their roles in the organization as their fundamental centrality of meeting the goals of the company. There are several ways in which HR departments help bring a company to an early demise. For example, lack of employee development through solving their crucial problems on time may result to demoralization. In the same aspect, failure to attract to competent and skilled workers has a likelihood of leading to reduced production and productivity of the workforce. Alternatively, the lack of employee development through trainings and proper induction may cause the company to lose time hence productivity (Patterson 123). In other words, it is essential to ensure the HR departments put the goals and objectives of the company before everything in order to ensure prosperity. Another way an HR department can bring a company is when managers do not have a warm relationship with employees. This always arises when managers have no proper training on how to deal with workers of different backgrounds in order to improve their productivity and even longevity in the company. There also the lack of hiring workers strategically and in the right manner that may lead to the demise of the company. This is through bringing on board workers without morale and motivation in what they are doing in their jurisdiction. Alternatively, some workers may also lack skill and talent that is paramount in handling their duties efficiently. It is imperative to note that operations in areas of companies such as manufacturing, order processing and paper processing are the driving force of the company. For instance, in terms of manufacturing, most successful companies such as IBM, General Motors and Ford Company have all thrived on producing of products for other companies (Turner 134). This suggests that employees who work there perform the fundamental job of being the main producers of what assists other organization in acquiring their profits. Additionally, it is these neglected operations such as order processing and paper flow processing that hones the fundamental skills of most workers on the critical needs and objectives of the company. In other words, competency of some workers is always noted in the operation sectors. Furthermore, MBAs should be encouraged to explore areas of manufacturing on the essence of initiating inventions that bring monumental changes in history such Apply by Steve Jobs and Virgin airlines by Branson. In other words, entrepreneurship skills through innovations and discovery will help most companies in coming up with improved and user-friendly products. This means companies that conduct manufacturing will ensure what clients expect is provided on time according to their expectations and needs. Therefore, for companies that neglect their operations, there are many ways they will get into serious trouble. For example, their revenue will be low because of the dependence on manufactured commodities from other companies (Hunter 89). On the same account, such dependence will increase the expenses of conducting business many have been apportioned to other departments for profits. Similarly, lack of operations in companies will result to attracting less skilled workers who are competent in paper work hence no productivity. This means an organization will be breeding employees with less skills and competence and cannot operate in other demanding departments. Another crucial trouble entails lack of acquiring a new skill in the process of manufacturing that is paramount in meeting the growing demands if 21st century in the global market. In the same aspect, without paper processing and manufacturing processes in the organization, managers may not find proper ways of propelling the company to new heights in terms of market segmentation and supply strategies. In other words, the use of technical people in the sectors of paper processing, order processing and manufacturing would also not used hence the decline of such talent and skill. In conclusion, the continuous improvement of HR departments in organizations is essential for the betterment of productivity (ElMaraghy 60). In other words, other departments should work in cooperation with HR in order to ensure harmonious attainment of company goals and objectives. This will also translate to the motivation of workers who are considered the backbone of every company. Work Cited ElMaraghy, Hoda.
