Memo to Passengers on Spree Cruise Lines Crew and Passengers of “Sensation” Cruise Ship Tara Hoopes 29 October, 2011SUBJECT: Emergency Itinerary ChangesAs you may have all noticed in the past several hours, there has been some uncommon vibrations all over the cruise ship. After an immediate investigation by the cruise ships able crew, we found out that we cannot run both engines at this point. Unfortunately, this incident would cause us to travel on half power. After a thorough deliberation with Captain Galati, Engr.
Ferguson, Cruise Director Ned, and the management people of Spree Cruise Lines, we expect our arrival into Cozumel to be delayed from Tuesday at 9:30 am, to same day at 4:00 pm. Furthermore, to maintain our plan of returning to New Orleans by Friday, departure from Cozumel would be by Wednesday at 2:00am. It is unfortunate that with this situation, we also need to skip our Cancun destination altogether. We understand that this is an unhappy announcement for everyone. However, passenger safety and the ships integrity are our main concerns.
Rest assured that we would make the necessary special arrangements for a differentiated level of experience during our short stay at Cozumel. Furthermore, our Cruise Director Ned would create some activities to make our travel fun, entertaining, and still worth its while. We are open to ideas and suggestions from everyone. We would also like to call everyones attention regarding some internet posts that some may have done during the past hours. We regret the worries that this incident may have caused you, but we also would request for everyone not to provide unnecessary worries to our loved ones who are waiting for us on land.
We would like to minimize any issues this could cause everyone, and at the same time have the relaxation and fun that we expect from this trip. Our ship may be running slow, but let us not let this “slow us down.” Captain Galati, Engr. Ferguson, and Cruise Director Ned would be happy to respond to your questions and needs. We look forward to everyones understanding and cooperation.
