In a certain work area, there are times that there are unplanned absences which the organization deems this kind of situation as liability due to thefact that the target production of the company for the day could be halted due to the absence of one and also the company has to pay the said individual because it is within the bounds of law and it is included in the benefits of the workers. With this, the company spent tremendous amount of money in meeting this kind of incidences. What is the most saddening part of this is that the company would not be able to refund this kind of expenses. In order to be able to cope-up with the recovery on these expenses and to be able not to tolerate such practices there should be a scheduled recovery for unplanned absences or in other words, a system to be looked upon by the employees in order to minimize this kind of occurrences from happening again. Also, with this kind of absences, there should be a technology or related factors to compensate with the absence of this individual. In United States, the labor sector loses 2.3% of scheduled working hours as well as 20 percent of its payroll due to this kind of situation. The question is what are the steps that must be done should this kind of instances occur to replace the absentee as well as to minimize expenses during this particular incident wherein the company is required to pay the absentee' On the given example, there are varieties of options that are to be looked upon in order to address this kind of problem. In this case, these varieties are regarded as part of the system. The remedies that were provided are that the company would hire temporary employee in the absence of the personnel concerned, pay-per-use scheme within the customers, hold over-times and the likes. These ideas and are somewhat a management system in the company which is formulated to address several issues concerning operational management within the company. In the article written by Fred Easton (+) and John Goodale in 2005 entitled scheduled recovery for unplanned absences, it was stated there the issues revolving around organizations particularly in organizations which is service in nature. The subject areas were Labor and staff planning, mathematical programming and the likes were tackled and looked upon. In my own perspective regarding issues on unplanned absences specifically on business which is service in nature, a contingency plan must be made due to the organization exist due to the services that have been rendered by the people. Also, a system which deals with the employees and the target customer is essential to obtain the sense of order in the workplace. The aforementioned systems that was laid in the earlier premises in this paper in order to address the problems concerning in this nature. The pay-per-use scheme is a convenient way to use in order to regulate flow and arrival of customers in which the customer will have second thoughts of acquiring services from the company. In this case, the company will have a return of income as this method is expensive from the conventional one. This kind of scheme is very practical since the scheme would tend to regulate the influx of customers and since thee are a small amount of employees that are working due to the absence(s) of their colleagues, then chances of serving tremendous amount of customers would be manageable due to the fact that customers will be entertained only on the prescribed terms of use and the services that would be used will be paid each time they are availed and with this, it will also be a source of tremendous income since the services are paid not on the length but rather on the quantity of rendered services. Also, the employees will only work on the prescribed description of their tasks. In this case, the work load of the employees will become limited thus will give better chances in meeting the demands of customers regardless of numbers. Also, in this process, the operation of the organization was not halted though they operate with minimal amounts of employees dealing with tremendous amount of customers. The next thing, the idea in the given text which deals with the inclusion of multi-tasking in the operation of the organization is also a system that is convenient to use on the basis that the employees would not be limited on the way they are having their jobs but rather they would expand their expertise and become more flexible in attending more jobs and filling in vacant slots should some employees absent themselves unplanned which derail the normal process of the operation. In order to have a detailed and enhanced procedure a system on how to do such is very important. System is defined as "an organized and coordinated method; a procedure and A group of interacting, interrelated, or interdependent elements forming a complex whole (answers.com 2007)1. Multi-tasking is a broad responsibility however, it must be detailed on the fact that the people within the organization must observe it on the expertise that are in line with their job description. For example, personnel who have something to do with technical must delve with technical aspects alone and not with clerical and managerial tasks. In the case of unplanned absences, it is within the call and prerogative of the management to formulate a system that would benefit the organization in a manner that it would minimize the effect of the absence of the personnel. Formulating systems such as pay per use, multi-tasking, hold over times are systems that must be implemented. These kinds of systems do have positive effects on the customer, the human resource and the management. If we are to take note of these schemes, such systems compensates the loss of the absentee by providing detailed plan in rendering services, staffing of the people and similar instances. This kind of systems is very beneficial to the organization in filling vacant slots in the organization while attending to the needs of the customer and giving-up quality services. The aforementioned tasks is important as it would further enhance the flexibility of the personnel within the company plus it would earn the respect of the customers. .answers.com (2007). Definition of system Upon tackling the aforementioned premises provided by the said literature, the said system is more of a contingency plan wherein the organization would gain favorable amount of customers with minimal personnel; attending to their needs since this kind of system maximizes the potential of every personnel to the fullest. In the services in the United States as stated by the authors, there are plans and contingency including mandatory overtimes, which compensates the absence of personnel. If we are to analyze the inclusion of such system in the organization helps the organization in adjusting to unexpected incidents wherein most of them are caught unaware. Such plans are done with the knowledge of the people in dealing with such things. However, if we are to analyze no matter how effective and useful; such a contingency plans that are being used in the United States, the success of this relies on the implementation of the people along with the political will of the management to fully implement these systems. If we are to analyze, if no one will implement this systems, how can the aim of such systems be realized' All in all, though the aforementioned factors has a lot to contribute with the operational management of a certain organization, still, the human resource is the most effective resource since these resources can perform different task simultaneously and has intellect which the other resources don't have. Also, these resources are impossible to be utilized without the intervention of human resource and therefore, in operational management, human resource is still the best asset of the organization.
