It is located in the city of Toronto on the northern side of Lake Ontario. Its owners, Kim & Blake, designed this resort to offer halt mainly to the people visiting the city for business purposes. The proximity of the Toronto Harbor makes the resort attractive for the visitors.

The resort has 20 rooms in total out of which 6 are luxury suits meant for the Elite Class and the rest 14 are for regular visitors. There are two swimming pools at the backside of the resort and a lawn attached to the garden. A children’s park is also there for the recreation of the kids. The resort has facility of nightclub that offers up to 2 drinks to an individual at no extra cost. The house-keeping team maintains the hygiene & cleaning services on a regular basis. The foods are cooked and served with high quality assurance and the resort also has cooks knowing various cuisines from across the world.

Our front desk service executives offer multilingual options to the visitors that include English, French, Italian and Japanese. The resort premises have two ATMs of leading banks of Canada. Also the resort offers tour guides for a better travel experience. It also has a large seminar hall for arranging business meets and conferences. (Garrington, 2005, pp. 28-30) Organizational Structure Every organization has its set of goals and every individual in the organization work towards the achievement of that goal.

Since Silver Bear is a new company, therefore its primary objective is to achieve excellence through quality service offerings to compete with the existing and renowned resorts in the market. To attain this objective the company maintains a structure that helps each employee to get an idea about their job with a supervisor constantly supporting them for further improvement. This type of structure focuses on both the outcome of the operations as well as the task of the employees. In terms of management, this is known as Matrix Structure.

The following diagram illustrates the hierarchy of the organization- Operations Managers Functional Managers (Marquis & Huston, 2009, pp. 267-274) Business Model Business model defines the system of choosing various inputs, desired outputs, business activities and business environment of an organization that helps to determine what exactly the business is doing and how. A business model helps in value creation for the organization and is generally developed before starting the business. It can also be created after company’s inception when they feel the need for a new model over the previous one.

Silver Bear Lodge was started with the vision of being one of the largest Business resorts of Canada. Its mission is efficient customer service. It was opened near the Toronto harbor mainly to draw the traders related to export and import of cargos who visits the city for delivering goods or for taking their deliveries. Also the harbor and the vessels on it, offer a great scenic beauty for the visitors. As it is one of the most prominent areas of Toronto, therefore people find markets and transportation facilities easily from this place.

This region also includes the Toronto Islands which is a famous tourist spot. The area has an airport, an amphitheatre and many hotels and therefore this place has been chosen for launching the resort’s operations so that it becomes alluring for the people. The strengths of the resort include its prominent location and its quality service offerings. However, the resort has some weakness like the prices are slightly higher in comparison to similar resorts and the strict checking system of the luggage to avoid illegal drugs or weapons being carried into the resort.

Also the visitors need to present their identity cards which sometimes make the individuals irritated. There is a huge opportunity for the resort to grow its business as it’s the only resort available in the harbor area and therefore the business can develop without threat of competition. The location of other resorts at the heart of the city draws more people due to their popularity and they also have tie-ups with major travel agencies which is a potential threat for the company. Culture Art, music and disco forms the overall culture of the resort.

The work culture of the organization is very formal having a definite code of conduct. Every staff has their uniforms with the name of the organization written on it. Every visitor is greeted with a decorated maple leaf as the symbol representing the country. Expensive paintings are hanged on the walls of the resort and poetries by Bliss Carman are inscribed on the walls to the staircase. The resort’s nightclub contains a bar, disco lights and famous DJs. Overall the culture of the resort offers a fusion of traditional and modern lifestyle.

This mixed culture is offered to draw visitors of every age. Reference Marquis, B. L & Huston, C .J. (2009) Leadership Roles and Management Functions in nursing: theory & application (6 ed) China: Lippincott Williams & Wilkins Garrington, S. (2005) Canada. London : Evans Brothers
