Greek Parthenon and Bolshoi Theater in Moscow Introduction Parthenon and Bolshoi Theater are the most attractive buildings in Moscow and reveals an art, one of the most economic and cultural practices in the United States of America. The two buildings have almost similar construction featuring the same art and aims to perform in the culture of Moscow. Many other buildings follow the same style of construction embracing on the science behind art. To realize this, Joseph Bove, a Russian neoclassical architect with Italian roots played a huge role in reconstruction of Moscow. One of his most famous works is Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. Similarly, the Greek Parthenon represents classical style and carries the idea of humanism, and rationalism. Body Parthenon has a historical setting in which in represented the Athenian Empire, which was at the statue of its power. Now as its work on construction continued to take place, it later represented the physical and visible efflorescence of the Athenian imperial power. Equally, it symbolizes the power and influence of the Athenian politician who championed its creation. Many historians have their own view and believe that the Athens accomplished a peace agreement with Persia in 449; two years prior to work began on the Parthenon. This brought significance on the continued existence of Athenian Empire and become the mutual defense against the Persians that ceased authentication. The Greek used the league funds to built the Parthenon and read as an expression of the poise of the Athenians in the newly naked imperialism. Elgin obtained permission to add some decoration to the temple with Marbles. The Parthenon Marbles acquired by Elgin comprise some 17 numbers from the statuary and the east and west pediments. They vary in numbers decorating the horizontal course that is set above the interior architrave of the temple (Jenifer 225). This decoration represents almost a half of the remaining surviving sculptural adornment of the Parthenon. The Bolshoi theatre is a historic theatre built in Moscow, designed by Joseph Bove that holds the performances of ballet and opera. Originally, its name was Imperial Bolshoi Theatre but later reconstructed and called the Bolshoi theatre, and it held its performances at home, but it obtained the Petrovka Theatre on December 30, 1780 when I started producing plays and operas until it established its due name the Bolshoi theatre. During the construction, the French invasions destroyed the theatre in fire. That now marked a new art building the current theatre on theatre square between 1821 and 1824. Later on, foreign composers entered the inventory around 1840 to join the Russian presentations. The Parthenon is a Doric temple consisting of a rectangular floor plan and series of low steps on every side. It also has a measured colonnade of Doric columns extending around the edge of the whole structure. It is outsized to lodge the oversized statue of Athena, confining the facade and rear porch to a smaller than the usual size (Mary 33). The Doric column remains supported by two-storied arrangement. The width and length structure of the Parthenon allowed for a dramatic background of double-decked columns despite that Doric temples only appear on flanks. The back room protected the Athena’s treasure and for columns of the ionic supported its roof. These elements of the Ionic order in the Doric temple became dramatic in the expansion of an incessant frieze on the exterior partition of the cella. Meanwhile, the incorporation of Doric and Ionic elements on the same sanctuary was not a novel order of development in Greek architecture. Parthenon bestows this development as a delicate balance between austere and fragile visual distinctiveness. Viewers only view the interior of the temple from outside through the doors according to the designers. The design of Parthenon has aesthetic elements that allow for a smooth transition between the interior and the exterior hosing the statue of Athena. The majestic proportion of the Parthenon is a place for the visitor’s confrontation, with the full view of the west pediment and the north colonnade. Visitors, coming closer could understand the details of sculpted metopes (Jenifer 231). When these visitors moved closer to the foot of the columns, sections of the frieze would turn into clear in tantalizing colorful glance peering from the spaces between the columns. Bolshoi theatre has some other distinct features like the horses in the top of the building represented in a chariot of idols and great people on Greek vases and the bas-relief. This brings about the ancient Olympic Games and other contests meaning it races from there. Today, Olympic Games remain held in the world drawing the culture of the Moscow people. Despite the reconstruction, the company worked with performances held on the new stage and reopened again in 2011 featuring the international artists and the ballet and opera companies. To realize this, cultural activities remain held in the theatre like dancing and singing and all other kinds of rituals in Moscow. These horses in the top of Bolshoi theatre attract many visitors coming for the performances. This is one of the cultural mysteries of the twentieth century drawing how the radical new form of government in cultural terms by an art form so associated with its traditional forerunner. From the Imperial to the Union, Bolshoi managed to endure evolution that is both creative and political. All these changes reflect the cultural activities practiced in the community as a way of promoting it. These practices remain practiced making the community earn reputation by attracting people from other communities and even foreigners from other countries (Mara 50). The massive reconstructions of these two buildings featured on key development to attract foreigners for the improvement of the economy of the country. Most of the things that attracted foreigners are the sculptures, the horses, the stylish decorations, and the big performing floors based on accommodating as many people as possible. They also provided considerable prices for the audiences from the students to the foreigners to accommodate all different classes of people. Inside the Bolshoi theatre, the entire space remained stripped from the bottom, woven with wooden fixtures, silver stage curtain, and French red velvet banquettes removed for repair of specialist workshops. The functions in these theatres usually attributes much to the growth of the in the country. The artwork invented in the antiquity requires the use of sculptures and other special tools from the woodwork, and other tools from the bones of animals contributes much in improving the image of the country. This artwork also requires unique painting and other attractive characteristics that fame the country to other countries. The Greek Parthenon and the Bolshoi all have those features included through massive reconstruction and spending of a lot of money for improving their appearance. The restoration of the work at the interior of the theatre focuses on the removal of the soviet hammer and the sickle through replacing it with the two-headed eagle. The symbol of the Romanov reign returns to its original place over the former box, where the imperial family would acquire in opera and ballet performances. This now becomes the president’s box. The arms of the Soviet Union later replace the original form of the two-headed eagle, who subsequently rationalized I accordance with the changes undergone by the most important icon of the country. The theatre also features on the additional foyers, cafeterias, subversive premises that will also lodge spacious storage for stage decorations. Conclusion Drawing the above analysis of artwork, it is evident that most of the artwork invented in the past remains practiced in our today’s life. Joseph Bove made a famous work in the development of artwork realized today in our daily activities. Most of the famous activities conducted in the modern era reflect the artwork practiced in the ancient eras. Evidently, this argument retaliates on the beautiful art sculptures used for the construction of the Bolshoi Theater and the Greek Parthenon. These buildings only feature on the performance of artists and foreigners and other members. They succeed in promoting culture, economy, and the image of the country.
