? GLOBALIZATION Globalization could be defined as act or process of globalizing according to Merriam-Webster dictionary (Merriam-Webster). Far more than in the Past, today’s enterprises are acting global, with offices and production facilities in countries all over the Globe. Corporation such as Cisco Systems, DHL and Bridgestone to name few operate worldwide, Transcending national borders. A prime reason for the change is because of the strong demand arising from customers and business overseas. Companies that want to grow often need to enter international markets. We are exposed to technology now a day. For every work we have to use technology of certain kind. Technology is everywhere we see; from television to nuclear weapons we see the use of technology. Technology has made this easier for everyone to communicate with each other from different countries. People can see each other, talk to each other, even they live far away from each other. This has only become possible because of electronics. We have to use technology in every walk of life because we are totally dependent on technology as this present era is said to be an age of technology. No work can be done without technology now. We use pen for writing our stuff and now we use laptops for this purpose. Use of technology is the same for both but because of advancement in technology, means of using them differs. But technology remains there every time to facilitate us. We cannot survive without technology in this modern world. If we face any health issues we have hospitals and surgical instruments are there to tackle with operations and surgery work. If we feel unsafe we use weapons and safety instruments for our safety. Globalization brings different nations of the world closer and help them to join hands in terms of economy , society , education and politics. Globalization minimizes the distances among nations and increases their communication level. Globalization and use of technology enables people to communicate with one another for the sake for nation development and this is the biggest achievement by the use of technology that all nations are together and in touch with each other. Having different culture different language doesn’t matter now. Technology has removed all those differences. One culture of a country can be easily mixed up with another country. Globalization amalgamates integration as well as interaction. Globalization is now linked with technologies in every aspect of human civilization through making countries build new policies that would help them to open economies internationally as well as domestically. Free market economies systems is developed and that provides the path for mounting potential for industries and economies and provides the platform for investments and international trade. In this way, technology has played an important role to serve as an opportunity for marketing, production, foreign markets and trades. Technology has an important role in business marketing. E.g. Advertising is basically is the way of communication and negotiating with people whom you think as your potential consumers for the company.. And this has all become possible because of digital-advertising. That’s technology itself. Advertisements and digital promotions contribute a lot to sales volume of the company and as this world is exposed to technology so this is the need of hour to adopt digital ways for promotions to have boom in their sales. So technology plays an essential role in business sector to flourish and grow. As this world is turning into electronic-world and use of internet and its awareness is increasing day-by-day so organizations should go with the flow. Organizations advertise electronically, non-electronically, and promote their products through internet because technology is the major key to increase sales and target the selected market for generating revenue. Firms and individuals have already realized the importance of electronic gadgets and advancement in technology. Globalization is affecting this world in many aspects. Some are as follow: Industrial Economical Financial Informational Ecological Political Cultural Social Technological competition Technology is affecting industries as technology like internet, gadgets, technological tools, advanced machinery is the main key for any industry to survive and compete and have revenue. Globalization plays an important role in bringing more customers local and foreign to cater their target market and this has become possible because of internet and other technologies that bring people together. Trade with the foreign markets has come to its boom. Globalization is providing many borrowers with the opportunity to procure financing so called external financing. Globalization provides the platform for the exchange of goods and services on the basis of negotiation. Management of economical collapses and issues like that are also managed by the help of technology. If we look from political perspective then we will be able to know the in the era of globalization US has become the supreme power and is enjoying healthy economy and strong position. Example of china is the biggest example that how they have come up with technology advancement and how they grow their economy and now they are able to compete with everyone and seem to have strongest position in the market. If informational aspect is put forward then we will be able to know the role of technology in building out strong informational level. Flow of information has become possible only because of technology as information flows from one part of the country to the other part of the country or country to country. As we are exposed to globalization, so advancement in technology is technology is there. Competition is increasing day by day. Everyone has realized the importance of technology to compete and survive in this modern and advance world. The most neglected aspect of technology is ecology. Its affected by climatic changes caused by pollution created by industries. Industrial area and its surroundings is becoming slum because of the waste released by industries. These industries have technologies but they are the cause of pollution and destroying environment. So this shows the dark aspect of technology. In the same way technology is also being used for destructive purposes rather than their usage in constructive purposes. People misuse technology and this is harmful for other living beings and environment. As weapons are used for destructive purposes nowadays rather than safety purposes. Pollution created by large machines is affecting people in a sense its forcing inhabitants’ to inhale intoxicated materials and causes many deadly diseases. If we look at cultural aspects then we will see that cross-cultural contacts are mainly because of globalization. Technology has promoted cultural diversity. Pseudo-cultural pattern has been created by enhancing greater consumer products through technology. Tourism has also increased because of technology and globalization as it promoted travels. If social aspect comes under consideration, people have social networking now and can talk to each other through different networks. They are able to understand each other on a single platform and have fun no matter how distant geographically they are and with the increase in globalization technology advancements and their usage are increased. Without technology, no one can survive in this world. Nothing would be possible without technology. If technology would not be there, business would not flourish as e-business is there now days. Buying and selling or communicating through internet. In this modern age, technology is everywhere. In short if technology is there then different aspects would grow better. Different sectors like industrial, financial, political, economical, informational, ecological sectors would automatically grow as all of these are linked with technology. Technology plays an important role in improving all sectors of industry and economy and even small works of life. So, life cannot be possible without technology. According to Marley view, As the technology and science is advancing, it is making technological innovation also grow with it which invites the potential emergence of new equipments and gadgets. It doesn’t matter how big or small the company is, technology is bringing intangible and tangible advantages to companies regarding costs and meeting demand and needs of customers. There is negative use of technology as well and it is considered that excess of anything is bad. A negative impact could consist of, explosion, wastage of time, loss of lives, and pollution. Whenever we are going to use anything for destructive purposes, it’s going to have bad impact on economy, ecology, industry, and environment. In short globalization has lead to technology advancements and people have to go with the flow and use technology in order to cope with this modern world. Works Cited Bhagwati, Jagdish N.
