She said she wants the event to become successful by engaging well with the participants. She wants me to ensure that all their queries will be answered because she wants to see all of us succeed in the business. The availability of answers to queries being bombarded to her by the group of participants is a sign of an effective interpersonal communication. She developed rapport, stated and expressed what she wants to happen, and gladly made a follow-up right afterwards. She communicated well not just with me but with the other staff.

She shows parity of her actions through interpersonal communication towards us, and she wants us all to procure all the information she transports in the event. Therefore, our manager successfully completed the oral message-sending process (Lussier and Achua 191). Work Application 2: Select 2 or 3 of the tips that you can use to improve your written communication. Explain how using the tip will improve your writing. In my experience, I have written advertising and promotional text for our brochures and website, and I must say that writing in an organized manner, keeping the message short and simple, and editing or rewriting are all valuable tips in written communication.

Organising your thoughts and the context of the message will help in improving my writing, especially when I write for our brochures. It will be easier for me to specify the aim of the material when it is written in an organised manner. Before I commence to do the content advertising, I make sure that I have done a series of brainstorming as I know I need enough time to ponder things that are significant to the brochure. Next, if I keep messages short, concise and brief, especially when I write promotional materials and for the website, I will be able to inform the reader immediately of what the text is all about.

That stated, all I will have to produce the salient content by embracing clarity and simple conveyance of idea through the language that I use. The aim is for the reader to understand the text in a short span in order not consume much of the reader's time. Lastly, because most of the texts that I write are for the company’s promotion, it is essential that I edit it properly in order to avoid any misleading information or unbiased statements. Work Application 3: Refer to Self-Assessment 1 and the listening tips.

What is your weakest listening skill area on the job? How will you improve your listening ability? The eleventh scenario in the listening skills assessment is my weakest spot. There are times when I am confronted or told with issues that I am mostly knowledgeable of that when someone talks about that topic; my mind thinks and prepares the reply I want to give. Although in some cases it helped a lot in giving sensible response to the issue being raised or brought up, the thing is, sometimes, one misses the entire point and details of the story because of too much focusing on what you are going to said in return.

Active listening is an important tool in any business communication (Harvard Business School 128). I need to practice on focusing to the other person talking and still do the job of preparing and listening effectively to the other person simultaneously. That could be learned. The art of communication is a two-way process -- listening and speaking. I believe I am excellent when it comes to providing feedback, and I am sure of having such a thing. However, effective listening is
