Economic Impacts of Invasive Alien Species; Submitted Introduction In 1492, alien plant species invaded Germany, this was directly and indirectly through human actions, and hence, this species developed and adopted free-living habits with humans, though this led to adverse effects on the economic circles of humans (Reinhardt 8).Invasive alien species had several economic impacts both positive and negative. The negative impact supersedes the positive ones. The following are some of the negative impacts of the species; “the alien species caused damages to forests, it had a wide impact on agricultural practice; this includes damages of both subsistence and cash crops” (Reinhardt 26).

It also affected the fisheries and aquaculture live by killing the fish inside the water. “It brought about community resettlements, communities had to migrate to other places in search of better places of residence (Reinhardt 34). This species did also affect watercourses and waterways by destroying these structures (Reinhardt 40). Invasive species contributed to increase in maintenance costs of land routes due to their disruption of land routes that was set in place (Reinhardt 43).In welfare economic analysis, in terms of cost-benefit analysis, invasive alien species can be said to have caused a greater negative impact to the booming state of the economy of the country at that point of time.

There were more costs that were associated with the maintenance of the harmful effects that this species brought about.
