Bibliography: Muhammad Ali (Cassius Marcellus Clay) Introduction Born in Louisville Kentucky, the birth of Muhammad Ali was Cassius Marcellus Clay Jnr. His date of birth was January 17 1942. When he was 8 years old his bike was stolen and he decided to be a boxer to recompense the theft of his bike by beating up the thief. In 1959, he earned the Golden Gloves championship, and in the subsequent year he rose to be an Olympic Gold medalist. The article describes his walking pace as slow and introduces his fourth wife who is named Yolanda. We are also told that Ali’s name Cassius Marcellus Clay was a slave name that he abandoned when he united with black Muslims. Here we see a frail Muhammad Ali and a controlling fourth wife who is blamed for taking advantage of the frail man for her undue exploits. From this author’s writing it is also explained that Muhammad Ali was not a believer of wars involving counties against each other. At the Olympics in 1960, he won a Gold medal in Rome. His Professional fight took place in the month of October in 1960.The first championship game he undertook was in the year 1964 when he was considered an underdog. He adopted the name Muhammad Ali after joining up with the black Muslims and ditched his former name. This is the time when he converted to Islam and closely later refused to participate in the war in Vietnam. The two greatest fights he had took place at a time when he was thought to be out of his prime days.
