Extract of sample "Did We Land on the Moon"

No: Did We Land on the Moon? Space had always been considered as the undiscoverable before scientists realized it should be explored for the betterment of the human race. The most significant mile stone is the landing on the moon. It became a possibility for the scientists to develop such technology and strategy to further explore the space. Moon is an object that orbits the earth and it was considered that it would be great mile stone to land on the moon. The flight that landed on moon brought back real proof of their landing on the moon. The proofs are the soil sample of the moon, rocks form the moon and pictures. However, it was always doubted by some people that no aircraft landed on moon. Some people have the view that the claim of National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) that their aircraft landed on moon is a fake story due to analyzing certain aspects of the video recording. So, it has always been a question “did we land on the moon?” The development of the sensitive devices and machines that enabled us to communicate with a lightning speed is the blessing of the sensitive and sophisticated satellites revolving around earth. Moon is also considered as the natural satellite revolving round the earth transmitting the light energy waves to the earth that become visible at night. However, the question, “did we land on the moon” has to be researched. The research method I will follow is the qualitative research method in which we gather information regarding the topics, shape the gathered information and then draw conclusion by analyzing the information. The major portion of the information is taken from the NASA publications regarding the issue and the media perspective about the issue. All the sources can be found online. However, library sources are also included. A television program broadcasted on Fox News with the title “did we land on the moon” also emphasized on the issue and covered the issue negatively depicting that such the incident never happened and NASA only played to attain the leading position in the space exploration. The video recording of the television program are available online. The program has the view that the exploration videos of the moon are fake and filmed on a secret location (“Did We Land on the Moon”). The source is an online website source with relevant information on the topic. I have written the research question on the search bar of google.com and found the website with the relevant information. It can be found easily online. One of the major points that took the attention of many is the waving of the flag. The critics argued that there is no wind on moon but the flag was waving. The NASA researches replied to that quarry that, it is true that there is no wind on moon but moon has lower gravity as compared to the surface of earth and it is fact that when astronauts deployed flag on the lunar soil, it required twists to be fitted into the lunar soil. The twisting of the flag pole showed a rippling effect in the flag that is thought to be influenced by the wind. The second point that is considered is that the video did not capture any stars; according to NASA, it is not possible to take image of a very bright object and a comparatively dim object on a similar film, thus it is impossible to capture the stars (Dell, 214). The sources is a library source, I have searched for the books having the similar question and in response I have this book online, then I claimed this book from library and found interesting information in the book. On the other hand, the proofs like the rock’s sample and the lunar soil sample are quite unique and cannot be compared be any type of rock present on earth. The soil and rock samples have no or lower concentration of water as compared to the rocks present on earth. The presence of the glass crystals in the rocks from the moon, which were made due to extreme heat or pressure, shows that the sample came from outer world. On the other hand if these crystals were formed in the rocks on earth, the crystal would have be dissolved in some hundreds years due to the impact of water; however, the rocks from the moon have ages in millions of years. The clay sample is unique and the chemical composition of the clay present on earth is different from that of moon (Dell, 214). According to Dr. Marc Norman, a lunar geologist at the University of Tasmania, "Weve found particles of fresh glass in Moon rocks that were produced by explosive volcanic activity and by meteorite impacts over 3 billion years ago," added Norman. "The presence of water on Earth rapidly breaks down such volcanic glass in only a few million years. These rocks must have come from the Moon!"(National Aeronautics and Space Administration, n.pag). The source is an online source. I have searched it online by searching the research question in a search engine. The source is an NASA official website that gives all the information about the topic. It is possible for a common person to differentiate between the moon rock and common rocks present on earth. It does not require any relevant education to differentiate between the rocks, a person with a little knowledge can identify that the rocks from the moon are different for any type of rocks present on earth in many aspects. The major aspects are the shape and formation of the rock. The rocks have deep impacts of meteoritic explosion that deeply impacted the internal structure and formation of glass crystals inside the rock (Wisnewski, 119). The source is a book source. I have found the book in an online search and then I requested the book from the library. The third point is that the there should be marks by the space craft that landed on the surface of the moon. However, NASA argued that it is due to the impact of low gravity on the moon. The fourth point is that the space craft projects no take off flame or it can be said that the video provided no such detail of projecting the image of the flame. NASA argued that the reason for no flame is the presence of extreme solar light that dimmed the flame of the aircraft. On the other hand, the video technology at that time was not so sophisticated to capture the high definition video. Another aspect of the video is that the pictures and the video is quite clear, it should not be of such high quality, as the camera has to be positioned on the belly on the astronauts. The video should have a little blur portions, shaky portions and out of focus portions but it was perfect. NASA argued at that point. There were different cameras on different positions (National Aeronautics and Space Administration, n.pag). One camera is on the space craft that landed on the moon, while others were with the astronauts. Astronauts were moving slow and videos were enhanced that resulted in clearer videos. Other important point that is raised against the videos is the path followed by the NASA space craft. It was believed that the path the space craft followed is full with heavy bombardment of harmful radiation. How, the NASA provided the Space craft and the crew proper protection. I think it was not the first flight into the space and in the first flight; scientists analyzed that how much radiation strike the space craft and the person on board. However, it could be quite possible that the space has different radiations level and at some points the radiation level become so harsh that special protection tactics should be employed to avoid any harsh accidents (“Did We Land on the Moon?”). The source is an online website source with relevant information on the topic. I have written the research question on the search bar of google.com and found the website with the relevant information. It can be found easily online. The question “did we land on the moon” has a reasonable answer in affirmative, yes we landed on the moon. All the proofs are quite clear that it can be understood from the proofs that the space craft made by the NASA carrying Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the surface of moon. The rock specimens from the moon are unique and no such type of rock or clay is present on earth. Even the chemical composition of the rocks from the moon cannot be present in any of the rocks on earth. Works Cited Dell, Pamela. Man on the Moon: How a Photograph Made Anything Seem Possible.
