Paris’ Notre Dame Cathedral was the Catholic Church’s home to the Archdiocese of Paris. All of the major Gothic architecture aspects such as the flying buttress pointed arches, and ribbed vaults were used to glorify God. Cathedrals were not all that Gothic Architecture had to offer. Abbeys, monasteries, and regular churches across Europe have this distinct design.  An example is the Abbey of Saint-Denis, also located in Paris, has a Gothic design. It is hard to see Gothic Architecture and not think of spirituality and God.
