Change of the Relationship between India, US, and China: The intensive round of power diplomacy for India in 2010 was marked by contradictory features. This was the culmination of the country’s post-cold war of multi-alignment which replaced its stance on non-alignment. The war also underlined the emergence of the relationship between United States, India, and China. During the end of 2010, presidents from the five permanent members comprising of the UN security council decided to visit India. The prime minister of India also visited Tokyo, Brussels, and Seoul for diplomatic summits. Additionally, he also visited the chancellor of German. The series of consultations meants the new hierarchy of power in India and also revealded some of the conventional themes. The quick recovery of India from the global recession that occurred in 2008 and 2009 offered a new leverage in meeting the stable and long term political mandate. These entailed garnering weight for the claims of India to have a permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council. This is in return was meant to promote the integration of India into a regime that is non-proliferated. The main objective under this framework was to endorse a greater role for the country to build a security order for Asia and increase pressure on the Pakistans to lower down their terror machines on the land. While the majority of power provided enthusiastic weight for the objectives, China struck a different tone. This was a reflection of the new link and relationship between Washington and Delhi and the emerging tension between China and India. The two trend line formed part of the relationship among the three countries. Origin of the Relationship During early 1960s, there was a tilt between United States and India the conflict between Sino and India. The relationship continued until recently when there was a slight foundation from the emrging triangular relationship between the three countries. Basically, the better part of the cold war, the triangular relationship between Delhi, Beijing, and Moscow that possessed a greater share for the power balanced in south Asia. This continued until George W. Bush entered power especially during his second term that started in 2005 and ended in 2009. Indeed, Washington factored india its plans about China. The interlocutors of India and Bush were extra-careful not to parade their relations based on the opposition that it has against China. The surprising warmth of Bush to India was his desire to invest huge political fund in order to transform their relationship. In addition his controversial stance in facilitating the trade of nuclear energy with India which were hugely taken to make India one of the counterweight to make China rise. The official proclamations to this decision were not documented, therefore, a senior architect of US’ indian policy later revealed the core of the Chinese factor. The president advocate his transformation of the relation between US and India on the main strategic principle of a sovereign India as a crucial factor in balancing the power of the Chinese. George Bush made it clear that the whole issue was not based on containing China. Nevertheless, the senior architect said that without the influence of China at the administration of Bush there would be no fruits in the negotiation of the agreement on Civil nuclear and the Congress would have failed to approve that decision. Majority of people especially within the establishment of the foreign policy saw the fascination of Bush with India as wrongly advised. There was a massive concern in India that Obama was anticipated to reverse the benefits. The worst fear of Indians seemed to be confirmed in 2009, when they spoke in one voice saying that they are willing to stabilize their relationship with Asia. The issue was given a first priority when the president of China visited US few weeks later after the president of American returned from China. The Indians were not happy with the new relationship, this made Obama the president of United States to refer India as leader in Asia and indispensable power. During the later months of 2010, the Us formed a strategic dialogues with the Indias, where the president of American reaffirmed his commitment in forming a partnership with the India and agreed to sideline any apprehensions about the backslide on the advances that were steered by president Bush. Equally important, the Americans also launched a dialogue with the Indians discussion on the East Asia. The outcome of the dialogues was to institutionalize the consultation on the formal bilateral on the China government. In 2010, the events that happened in Delhi, compelled a moving recognition of the effect of the rise of the China for the security of India. The Chinese signaled its commitment to initiative for civil nuclear between India and United States with a concensus of selling additional reactors to the Pakistants. Delhi saw the issuance of the Chinas of the staples visas to the citizens of Indian from the Kashmir and the Jammu state as a Chinas neutrality diversion in the conflict between the Pakistan and India and questioning of the democracy of India. India wanted respect from the China on the crucial national interests on their territorial integrity, the same way Delhi viewed Beijing on matters concerning Taiwan and Tibet. The new equivalence between the Kashmir and Tibet marks a new being in the territorial disputed between China and India. This orchestrated the visit of the Chinese Premiere Wen and President Obama in December 2010. India, Wen, and Obama The visit of Wen to United did not seem different like those visits between European leaders and Obama. Wen came along with huge business delegations and signed more business deals. Conversely, India and China made a huge trade deficit, this posed a central issue during the visit of Wen. Wen promised to address the demand of India for the large access of the market. Political wise, the difference between the two countries was steady. Wen promised the Indians that he will handle the issue of the stapled visas. On the three main issues that interested the Indian, the difference between Wen and Obama was stark. The permanent membershio of the India on the United Nations Security Council, the president of United Stated ended the reluctance of US in supporting India. China’s premiere distance himself from saying that China knew the aspiration of the Indians in playing a large role in United Nations. Obama supported the integration of India on the order of non-proliferation. The president of America also addressed the long term standing demand for the Delhi in treating it as a strategic partnership based on the domestic controls of the United States on exporting high technologies. The actions and promises of Obama underline the new commitment of the United States to accept India as one of the partners in the non-proliferation. He also acknowledged India as one of the nuclear weapon countries and remove all the predicaments that was placed on India. China, on the other hand, remained reluctant in recognisinf the reality of the weapon status that was bestowed upon India. Above all, the China government has always continued seeing Pakistan and India differently on issues of nuclear weapon, terming it as nuclear parity that exists between Islamabad and Delhi. On the wider question to maintain the balance of the subcontinent, the Chinese premiere deepended the traditional tilt of the Beijing towards the Pakistant. Conversely, other leaders who visited Mumbai during the rememberance of the terroris attack, the premiere was hesitant but he was committed in demonstrating an enduring commitment by adding Islamabad during his Delhi visit. Western leaders including Obama called for PAkistain to shut down their safe haven for attacks on its land and bring those concerned of the attacj to Justice, Wen sidelined himself to such terrorism formulations. The strategic community and policy makers of the Indians are increasingly attuned to the notion that India is supported by United States on issues of national security. China has continued to remain ambivalent on .The new triangular dynamic between China, United States and India has really played out in Asia Pacific. As maritime spaces and Asia have emerged as one of the main arena of the contest that exists between Beijing and Washington, the India and United States are drawing very close on their policies to the country. Addressing the Indian parliament, Obama endorsed the Look East Policy for the Indians. He urged the Indians to become engaged in the locality. When Obama visited India; it was one of the visit to Asian Democracies. It was meant the return of America to Asia which was previously refered to as neglect that been forwarded by the rising China. There is a failure in Obamas peaceful relations visit. It is affirms that the agreements that India and China has, cannot easily be broken by the ‘ongoing Obama trip in India’. It also hopes that the relationship between India and America would bring positive impacts like regional stability, mutual trU.S.t between countries and prosperity. There was plea on the India-china relations urging India not to be carried away by the Obama promises as it will thwart the Sino-Indian relations which are fundamental in ensuring a better economy and regional stability between them. The visit of Obama to India was an opportunity to elevate the country’s self-esteem. Therefore, the new India-U.S. relations in renewing the defense part of India were not meant to divide the association between china and India but to “compete for India’s defense dollar”. The relation was seen to be purely business relations with no motive behind it. This competition that was anticipated is the competition that will exist between America and Russia in provision of military technology to India, for instance, drones and jet fighter. In addition to that, the India-U.S. relationship was to enable India acquire new aircraft carrier and implementation of jet engine technology. This indicates that there was positive impact that will result from the Obamas visit. In this case, the aircraft carrier and jet engine technology will spark off rapid economic development, especially in the aircraft industry China has since watched at a closer look the policy of the Obama administration to Asia. It has singled out the celebration of Obamna of the shared political normas with the Indian and warned Delhi against forming alliance as a democracy. Similarly some of the Chinese editorialists haved remained confident that the strategic power play for Obama with India is yet to be strong to undermine the democracy of China in its calculus. The relationship between Washington, China, and Delhi have surprised many by working together like never before. The relationship between the three countries was considered as an abstract proposition during the reign of Bush. India have structured a new salience in United States toward the Asian Countries. The rise of China has risen effect on the core interest of India. Delhi, has started inclining towards the US in the Asian policy articulation. While Washington and Delhi are not allied in the conventional sense, the pressures between them in coordination their Asian strategies are believed to mount amidst the assertive rise of China.
