Social Darwinists have the notion that the strong are supposed to see their wealth and power increase while, on the other hand, the weak are supposed to experience the decline of their wealth and power. Consequently, different social Darwinists support varying views about the groups of people considered vital and those regarded as weak. They also have varying opinions on the precise instruments that should be used to promote strength and avail punitive measures. The majority of these types of views emphasize the competition that exists among individuals when capitalism is considered. At the same time, the contrary concept characterised by government intervention in social development enhances the ideas of racism, Nazism, imperialism, and the struggle between racial and national groups.

Colonialism affects modern culture and the resulting group's problems for these people. Colonialism generally refers to a social system whereby political subjugation instigated by one society leads to a cultural dominance characterized by social change that is enforced (Jain 48). Some cultures do not find it hard to adopt the pragmatic trade patterns associated with the colonialists. Still, many indigenous people violently rebel and attempt to regain their cultural sovereignty and economic imperialism. The indigenous people could not fight against the Europeans who had guns, were deceptive, and the diseases that affected the indigenous people. A perfect example of this occurrence is how the Americans killed the indigenous people on the land they occupied and made them move into reserves. They could not match up to the Europeans despite their attempts to control their generational land.

Populations still had the conviction and power to grow and survive despite the trauma and agony associated with colonization. After a tribe was assimilated or displaced, the cultural evolutions related to the tribes did not stop (Nester 167). Adaptation to change is a significant characteristic that defines the culture, and as more cultures experience division and meshing, various delicate dissimilarities can be identified. The classification of things and ideas is among man's greatest past-times. With the broad variety of world cultures, a way of categorizing societies depending on how they are the same or different comes up. The segments created by this kind of categorization are called typologies. Their evolution is based on the notion of uni-lineal cultural evolution that suggests all cultures experience natural selection the same way as biology.
