The main challenge came from the ethnic and racial relations of these communities and other immigrants as well as the natural habitats. The impact of these two communities’ immigrations has proven to have both negative and positive impacts. The Asian Americans are Americans who have an Asian descent. These are American citizens who trace their origin in places like Southern Asia, Far East and Indian subcontinent. They currently form approximately 4.8% of the total United States population. The Asian Americans form the significant minority group in America with most of them found in Hawaii, California, Boston and Chicago.
Compared to other immigrants, their ethnical and racial terms have markedly changed through the American history. The Latinos/Hispanic on the other hand comprise of approximately 47 million of the American population. This immigrant group speaks Spanish and traces their origin back in Spain. However, most of the Latinos/Hispanic Americans came from Asia. Most of them are believed to have come from Cuba, Mexico and Puerto Rica. The group is considered as one of the minority groups in America and their racial composition has been dominated by individuals identifying themselves as white.
The Latinos/Hispanic population is fast growing and young as a result of the high birth rate and immigration contributing positively to the United States population gains. The two communities have had great impacts in different sectors in America. Politically, the Asian Americans have been regarded as having high political level incorporation in relation to their voting population. They have actively participated in the country’s high levels occupying several offices at state, local and national levels.
This has led to the minority group being a political target in the United States as it has proved to influence the political wave although not to a great extent. Some high ranking officials from Asian origin include Daniel Inouye who is a Senator, with several governors including; George Ariyosh, Gary Locke, Ben Cayetano and Bobby Jindal. The Latino and Hispanic Americans have a varying trend in their political view depending on their background and location. However, a majority of them support and identify themselves with the Democrats while a few of them are associated with the Republicans.
Those from Colombia and Cuba are often in favor of the conservative ideologies thus support the Republicans while those from Puerto Rica and Mexico favor liberals thus associate themselves with the Democrats. Now that the Hepatics from Mexico and Puerto Rica form the lager group, the Democratic Party has held a stronger position in this community. The Asian immigrants’ contribution in the medical sector has been remarkable as it has changed the medical sector in America with the rapid increase of medical practitioners of Asian origin.
These physicians are mostly from Philippines and India. The importation of foreign medical staff has served as a solution to the alarming increase in the United States population. The Hispanics and the Latinos have dominated the business sector with most of them owning or heading big businesses in America such as The Coca-Cola Company, Arte Moreno, Colorado Rockies and Goya Foods. Goya Foods is the largest food company owned by the Hispanics. Robert
