Name: Task: Tutor: Date: Filming Photography Photography can be described as the process where art creates still pictures through recording radiation on a medium that is very sensitive to radiation like the photographic film and other image sensors that are electronic (Don Blair, Peter Skinner pg 20).Photography galleries are displayed in relation to the type of radiation that is being displayed. In most cases the term radiation is used to refer to light and in photography the foremost radiation is used in the spectrum that is both visible and has ultra-violet rays. Real image of objects are usually seen when light has been emitted or reflected on the area of the sensor that is very sensitive to light. Photography is done by a device known as a camera that has lens that makes its function possible when the camera has been put to a timed exposure (Don Blair, Peter Skinner pg 20).For an image to be seen it has to be visual in different directions and this means that whether the image is diapositive or it is positive the image will be developed. The camera has electrical charge that makes it possible for the image to be seen on the film or the plate and this electrical array is known as the array sensor. Photography is very interesting because most of the things related to it tend to sound a little bit complicated whenever someone gets to learn something new related to it. Whenever a photographer has taken a picture of someone or something light is reflected on the image and the reflection brings out the same image. The image is first made in a soft copy immediately after the reflection before it is seen on a printed paper which is now known as the photo (Don Blair, Peter Skinner pg 20).In most cases any device that has the functions of producing a picture is referred to as a camera because it is the only device with the ability of coming up with one. Camera’s can be found on updated telephones or other more sophisticated instruments but since the function is the same it still holds the name of a camera. In other words photography can be referred to as the act of taking pictures (Don Blair, Peter Skinner pg 20). Uses of Photography In the 21st century, photography has very many uses as compared to the way it had in the previous centuries and this is because it can be used for business, it can be used for art, for science and for other recreational purposes besides manufacturing of other electronic products (Don Blair, Peter Skinner pg 20).Most of the galleries displayed in the world of science have been used a lot since scientists have been studying the movements of organisms before they came to a conclusion that some organisms are living while others are non-living. All these claims on living and non-living organisms have been made possible for scientists due to the fact that they have taken a photo of these organisms and are able to showcase as evidence to their belief and other claims. The memory of human beings tend to work much more effectively with pictorial evidence because anytime they are able to picture something that they saw some time back, they are able to remember it very fast but when the picture of that thing does come to their minds then the possibility of forgetting it is very easy. This is one of the biggest reasons as to why most artists and scientists have been very interested in anything associated with photography in the 21st century (Don Blair, Peter Skinner pg 20). Photography has a lot to do with what one can see either from a far or near distance. Besides looking for evidence of a claim of something, artists tend to use photography in other aspects and this is very important because it gives it more value hence making it more interesting for one to study about it. Incidents that take place in the life of a person may be good or bad because there are those that really need to be remembered by someone while there are those that do not really need to be remembered (Don Blair, Peter Skinner pg 20). Whenever one remembers an incident that took place in their lives either in the decent past or not, they are able to give a pictorial explanation of what really happened. A person being told the story of what happened might not be in the position to get the picture of what he is being told about but he can also create his own image in relation to what he is hearing (Don Blair, Peter Skinner pg 20).For example whenever a child is told story related to uncle rabbit and hyena, they really like the story because they are able to create their own pictures of a rabbit and hyena and put these animals in the context of their stories. Favorite times in life are really remembered whenever people take a picture of what happened to them in the past and put it in the same context of similar situation that happens in their current life situations (Don Blair, Peter Skinner pg 20). Most precious incidents that took place in the life of an individual or in the lives of a group of people have a tendency of being treasured forever because through the pictorial presentation that people have in their minds, they are able to celebrate the incidents over and over again in their lives. One of the most memorable moments that most people will never forget no matter how many years pass is the incident of Barrack Obama becoming the president of the United States of America (Don Blair, Peter Skinner pg 20). This was one of the events that no one would ever wish to forget because it gives out the picture of what true freedom and independence of the black people means. Worst moments are not also forgotten because of the pictorial presentation of what people tend to have in their memories concerning a certain event (Don Blair, Peter Skinner pg 20).One of the events that many people on planet earth might never want to remember is the incident that took place in America in the year 2001 on September nine eleven when Osama Bin Laden bombed the trade centre that killed thousands of people. Telling a story becomes very easy when someone use pictorial evidence because it only modifies the picture that an individual being told a story tends to have in their minds. Children find more fun in being told a story while being shown pictures of they are being told about because makes them to become more attentive and more interested in it. When being told a story that has pictorial evidence, one becomes more interested and wants to listen more to the story because they want to make the pictures more interesting through adding more ideas which means that it will also add more colors to the picture of what they hear (Don Blair, Peter Skinner pg 20). Sometimes being told a story by assuming the colors of what one is being told becomes a little bit difficult but when being shown a picture of the exact situation, it becomes more understandable. There are phones that are able to send messages through giving a pictorial representation of what they want to be done for them. When someone wants to send a message related to a vehicle, then they simply decide to take a picture of a vehicle and send it to the person intended to receive the message (Don Blair, Peter Skinner pg 20). It becomes tricky when the message is not able to be interpreted by the person that it is being intended to because this means that the message can also be distorted. The pictorial mode of sending messages is one of the most developed modes of conveying messages because by the end of the day each individual is normal is able to create an image in their minds in order to under a certain concept in the events that take place in life. Distortion or understanding of a given pictorial message depends on the level that an individual has in order to interpret any given message since it can either be approached from a negative or a positive perspective of life(Don Blair, Peter Skinner pg 20). Pictures of events that took place in life can always be torn whenever someone does not want to remember it but it is very hard to erase it from the memory since there is where the message intended sticks and whenever the message is remembered then the exact picture comes across. Photography depends on the information that a pictorial presentation of something has and the message that is being intended because without considering these facts then it can be argued that there is no importance of photography in life (Don Blair, Peter Skinner pg 20).Photography is also used to entertain people especially when people go to an occasion and they want to entertain themselves with pictures then a photographer is contacted. Pictures that are taken for entertainment in most cases tend to appear funny or has people with funny postures. Photos taken for entertainment purposes in most cases are uploaded on face book so that the friends of the person whose picture has been taken can comment and give their opinions on the look of the person. There are people who find fun in taking pictures especially photographers who takes photos of models because in most cases the models tend to portray parts of their bodies that are rarely seen and this is a real source of entertainment (Don Blair, Peter Skinner pg 20).Amateurs in movies use photography in order to preserve their most memorable days and through looking at the pictures there are able to tell the stories of the events that took place on the day that the photo was being taken. The police also use photography in order to do their surveillance work with the main intentions of maintaining the level of security where they are assigned to. The military also use photography for security purposes since it is possible for them to be attacked by enemies whom they can only see from a distance or they cannot see at all thus by having their photos they are able to protect themselves from their enemies. Most security forces find the use of photography very useful since it helps them to practice their work effectively (Don Blair, Peter Skinner pg 20). The Camera Most of the photographic images that are displayed as galleries are done through the use of a camera. This is the device that is used in photographical works and it is used to take pictures of people. It is the device that forms images and it projects images in relation to which type of the focal length is being used. Most of the cameras that are used for photographing are usually of high quality and this means that the effects have to be very effective and convincing (Don Blair, Peter Skinner pg 20). The recording material has to have sufficient light in order to make the object that is being photographed to look attractive. All the important parts of a camera have to be functioning well in order for the photo being taken to come out effectively. The controls of the camera are all interrelated to each other because of the amount of light is aimed at reaching on the filming surface during the exposure. Most cameras tend to have their parts that can be altered to function automatically since for the image to be reflected well it must have good projection (Don Blair, Peter Skinner pg 20). The lens and the camera are usually controlled by the photographer so as to expose light on the material that is used for recording and this is important since it helps the latent image to be formed and this brings out the raw file of the film very clear. There are very different types of cameras and thee are such as the digital camera, the movie camera and other types. The digital camera uses a sensor for the images through the use of electronic devices that enables the object to be viewed very clear(Don Blair, Peter Skinner pg 20). With improved level of technology the camera has been developed gradually so as to ensure that objects are seen very clearly and this means that its production has been made to be more convincing with increase in time. Movie cameras on the other side tend to be more accurate when it comes to focusing on sequence of rapid photographs on films are in strips. Cameras function differently because there are those that are used manually while there are those that are used automatically. Most of the images that are displayed after a camera has been used can tell someone which type of camera has been used because the most effective are those with very clear images. Similarities and Differences of Photography and Other Art Work Photography just as compared to any other art work has the tendency of attracting the attention of people and this is very important because it also gives it more reasons to be categorized as an art although most people never wanted to categorize it as an art. Although photography and other forms of art were being given attention in the olden days, it became acceptable as part of art in the 20th century because it was seen to be important when it came to doing documentaries. This became part of the art that was accepted by the English-speaking and this is also what was categorized as the gallery system. The efforts of the American photographers such as Edward Steichen and Alfred Steiglitz and others became rewarded when photographing was recognized as a fine art (Don Blair, Peter Skinner pg 20).The main difference between photography and other arts is that it copies images that already exist while other art work like drawing comes out originally. Finally photography is part of art since it can affect the emotions of different people from all over the world and it is very important in the activities taking place in the modern world.
