Analysis of Visual Art Introduction: Analysis of visual art is changing drastically with the of the time. With the development of science and technology, visual arts and its application is changing rapidly. Now a days, visual art is not only consider as the expression of the photographer about any particular object or incident or place, but at the same time it also helps to demonstrate the demography and standard of society of the adjoining areas. Analysis of visual art helps people not only to understand the mindset of the artist but at the same time project a clear description of the object as well which may be of an individual, or a place, or any incident or any other living or nonliving substance. Visual Analysis: A Modern Take on Tradition: Historically, visual analysis has been earmarked for those who are basically involves with the study of art history; it scrutinizes the ceremonialcomponents of a portion of visual art, such as a image or statuette, and this is till date the most conjointsystem of explorationof art history. Art history still accepts all the recognition for the formation and assemblage of the essentials of visual analysis, but at the same time there is a trend of creating room for various kinds of modern accompaniments that now also considered by the experts as well as the viewers under the common definition of “art”. No matter whichever medium one must adapt to display and promote his or her thinking in front of the others, visual scrutinizing is a great way to get a detail about the technique that an artist used to develop his or her work. This is also helpful to understand the meaning that he or she is trying to communicate. Gemma in his review has mentioned that “While it is important to describe certain aspects of a work of art, the heart of a visual analysis naturally is found in the analytics; in other words, anyone can tellwhat they see, but not everyone is able to understand it from a technical and artistic perspective. A formal visual analysis is not possible on instinct or emotion alone; acquired knowledge and experience are absolutely necessary.”(Gemma) Analyzing the Visual Art: Marvin Helper at home; 2005 In this paper the analysis is about Marty Stuart’s Marvin Helper at Home, 2005. The photograph is of Marvin helper siting on a road side with a guitar in his hand. The photograph is categorized as the true essence of popularity of the country side music and its wide spread presence in the United States. Art Principle: Balance and Emphasis: The balance of this photograph is very even. The key character here positioned at the center giving full weightage on him. The surroundings on the both side as well as the background as well is well worthy of establishing the true sense of country music and its nature in the USA. The main emphasis of this photograph is clearly on the country music. The presence of the central character as a representative of the countryside music along with the background of old car and garage helps immensely to develop an essence of old age country side music and its popularity in various parts of the USA. Analysis of the Photograph: Line:In this picture there is no clear presence of any line. The photograph is focusing on him with his guitar and the background is of US countryside. A few old car, one or two other common men and a US flag-all these objects are clubbing together to create a backdrop of US countryside. There is no clear line pointing t any particular object or individual. But the large presence of the person himself clearly attracts all the focus. His hands, holding on to the guitar clearly resemble what he is looking for and what make him famous among the people of the country. His presence with that music instruments is the central point of attraction in this picture. In this photograph, he is able to draw a picture of people and places around him and the photograph of Marvin Helper is a clear indication of that. The lines which can be categorized as invisible in this photograph are clearly pointing towards the legends of country music in the USA. Shape:The shape associated with this photograph is more or less general. As his main objective to demonstrate the countryside music so he placed Marvin Helper at the center stage of the photograph with his guitar. By positioning him with the instrument in the center stage, Stuart easily convey the message that he wanted to deliver to the viewers and that is about the country music. As he himself is associated with the music, therefore the center point of attraction of his picture is surrounded around the music. Focusing on the artist with guitar in hand is a clear indication of that. “A champion of his subjects, Stuart refers to the people he has photographed with a language of respect and familiarity. The country music circle to which he had early entrée is “family.” The subjects of the “Blue Line Hotshots” series are “friends” and “cultural correspondents, good-hearted representatives, each with a story to tell that borders on the fantastic.” (Brentwood Life) Light:In this photograph the light is very bright and clear. As the photograph was taken in the daylight so there is no example or use of shadow. Moreover, as the main objective of the photographer was to project the image of the countryside music in the USA, so there is no need for shadow. With bright daylight, the central object is very clear and all the viewers will have their focus on him only. Marvin Helper with his guitar clearly is the central point of attraction. At the same time, the background is also very prominent with no unwanted shadowing distracting the view of the audience, The US flag, few old car, an old small garage type location-all these under the light which co relate the essence of countryside music in the picture. Space:The shape is more or lesser rectangular with Marvin at the center with his guitar in hand. As it is a real time image so there is nothing to pretend from the shape of the photograph. His presence at the center making it prominent that the photograph is all about representing music in front of the people of the country. The background is also supporting the essence of US countryside music. As mentioned in the Bentwood Life “Stuart’s work ranges from intimate and often candid behind-the-scenes depictions of legendary musicians, to images that capture the eccentricities of characters from the back roads of America, to dignified portraits of members of the impoverished Lakota tribe in South Dakota.”(Brentwood Life) Color: The black and white image is more characterizing for the countryside music of the USA. Generally the country side music was very popular in the USA in the early parts of 1990. Later on it started to get popularized among the advanced group of people as well but initially it was more famous among those who were from middle and lower middle class. The photograph of Marvin Helper in front of an old garage, with few old model of US car and storage of other rejected particles give more close connection with the countryside song and its atmosphere. The way Marty Stuart demonstrate his photograph is clearly close to his own profession and fascination and that is country side music. In the USA, countryside music is very popular and most of the people out curse of the main city are able to correlate themselves with this music. The picture also resembles the same. The central character of Marvin Helper with his guitar under the backdrop of an old US garage with some old model car also makes it even more nostalgic. Conclusion: The photographer, Marty Stuart is generally familiar as a songwriter, platinum recording artist and five-time Grammy winner who also like to capture the image of various incidents and people around him throughout his life. His photography skill is renowned for close and often truthful behind-the-scenes representations of fabulous musicians. Throughout his life along with his singing he has tried to capture the unconventionalities of appeals from the back roads of America, to distinguished portrayals of associates of the penurious Lakota tribe in South Dakota.A path breaking photographer of his subjects of countryside music, Stuart talks aboutthe people he has snapped with anetymological respect as well as acquaintance. “The country music circle to which he had early entrée is “family.” The subjects of the “Blue Line Hotshots” series are “friends” and “cultural correspondents, good-hearted representatives, each with a story to tell that borders on the fantastic.” (Brentwood Life) While summarizing the photograph, one can easily mentioned that the ferocious spirit of uniqueness is the collective pledge that bonds the leaders of country music, the fonts from the down line roads of America to the out curse of the country, and also with the Native Americans who use live in the gumshoe of the Badland, far away from the advanced civilization but always carries the true essence of old and actual America.
