Extract of sample "German Expressionism - Otto Dix's 'The War'"

Otto Dixs "The War" Otto Dix, "The War expresses the devastations of war and its destructive tendencies during the traditional days. The video presents the audience with a realistic depiction of dead and wounded soldiers through paintings as well as the artistic expressions. The German paintings reveal the extensive effects and impacts of war that affected people directly and indirectly. The paintings are a manifestation of the occurrences of war in the 20th century and how they negatively impacted on the well-being of the society.

While some paintings demonstrate the soldiers heading to war during the war, another show the overwhelming effects of war as troops lie in a pool of blood. Otto Dix projects through his paintings the experiences of victims and the extent to which war can be retrogressive in different sections of the world. Essentially, Dix intimates that human beings have the staggering capacity to destroy themselves, cultures, nature, and society. The land looks bare with no indication of living creatures.

Otto Dix views the traumatizing episodes of war with hallucination. The paintings highlight the key events of the war and the people who were directly affected. A collective majority of the victims are the troops who participated in the war. Otto Dixs paintings are an indication that artwork can be employed in putting the events that have occurred in the past into perspective. The painting techniques used in this context, reveal an amazing development and the process through which the artistic work was done.

The German expressionism is a demonstration of superior artwork.
