Analysis of Mystic River Movie In his return to directing films, Clint Eastwood presents a hitherto captivating movie. The writer of the story is Brian Helgeland and takes his theme line form the novel authored by Dennis Lehane. The story behind Mystic River surrounds three people who developed friendship in their childhood. The friends separated in their early ages but tragedy reunites them in adulthood. Eastwood stars among others Kevin Bacon, Tim Robbins, as well as Sean Penn among other actors. The group of actors used in the film make it moving as they remain gifted in talent and put in concerted effort to establish real human emotion. Other players could carry the potential to make the story a whodunit. However, actors in the film evoke genuine pain as they make the story actually deep. The director sets the film a blue-colour Boston neighbourhood. The plot that makes the Mystic River develops gradually. This gives the audience humble time to engulf the dynamism of the story with the aim of providing a solution to the crime. However, it is essential to mention that over its two and quarter hours flow, it stagnates at intervals. The film Mystic River offers solid performances from the first scene through to the last act. Tim Robbins treats the audience to a convincing presentation of the mentally crippled Boyle who fails to recover fully from his ordeal. Acting as the emotional wife to Boyle, Harden provides a hitherto performance. It is possible for every viewer to step into her shoes and empathise after feeling what she goes through. Among other issues, there is conflict, development of fear, and distrust in the process of struggling with the doubts about the connection of the murder to her husband. Sean Penn presents the most extraordinary performance in the entire family. Penn acting as DeNiro’s look-alike merges his souls and character coming out as Markum. In my opinion, the performance where Markum discovers that the daughter is dead presents the most wrenching part of the movie. Keeping him out of the scene of crime requires the effort of six police officers. The performance by Sean Penn is exemplary. Penn is settled in life and he boasts of a daughter named Emmy Rossum but acting as Katie out of his marriage. His lovely daughter dates Tom Guirry appearing on stage as Black Hawk Dawn, a boy from the neighbourhood albeit secretly. Ironically, for reasons not clear, Danny prefers hating the boy. He immediately comprehends half of what Jimmy puts forward that they belong to the world of hurt. As much as the film Mystic River tries to follow the whims of adequate police procedures, it deals with much more than simple guilt questions. The boys continue their lives individually in a manner betraying what happened to Dave. At this point, Eastwood shifts to the present day as he introduces the audience to Danny Markum performing as Penn. The viewers realise that Penn is a former con currently the administrator of a shoppette in the locality. Penn is settled in life and he boasts of a daughter named Emmy Rossum but acting as Katie out of his marriage. His lovely daughter dates Tom Guirry appearing on stage as Black Hawk Dawn, a boy from the neighbourhood albeit secretly. Ironically, for reasons not clear, Danny prefers hating the boy. The murder of Katie ushers tragedy in this Irish Catholic neighboured wholly inhabited by people in the working class of cadre in the social stratum. Appearing on stage as Det. As they continue to turn all the stones, the two investigators gather more information that tends to point at Boyle and Katie’s boyfriend. They came home at the wee hours of the night blooded after suspicious cutting. Boyle presents a funny version to his wife claiming that vanguard boys mugged him on the way back home. In spite of the version story to his wife Celesta, no newspaper in the morning mentions of mugging incident the previous night. Furthermore, Boyle insists that the wife should not call the police. In spite of the moving flow of the film, Mystic River has countable problems. The stagnation within the running time is a big issue. More so, writer and the director developed a subplot almost a scene like play-within-a-play when the wife to Kevin Beacon wails aimlessly without passing any message. The part is ridiculous and irritating to watch. Since the part adds nothing to the bigger plot, it would be appropriate to leave it out. Comparatively, Bacon appears younger than the two other men in the play-within-a-play. The author failed to allocate personality worth describing and analysing to Annabeth Markum and opts to leave the behaviour of the actor depend on the major parts of the film. The part becomes ambiguous when Annabeth out of nowhere and without any previous preparation turns into Lady Macbeth in the dying minutes of the film. This makes the part strange to entire scene and play. However, the author decides against resolving the impasse in the play. In the process, he creates dilemma and it does not come out as weakness on the part of the author. Clint Eastwood requires that scenes limit to a maximum of two and analytically it is clear from the potent senses from the cast scene. The scene appears without arrangement; it however, remains solid work in entirety.
