It is known that primitivism come from Western countries and investigates the use of simple lines with rough forms (Flam and Deutch, 7-11). In addition, the lack of chiaroscuro and a big simplicity of color characterize this particular style. Accurate representation is not intrinsic for primitive art, still significant form is acceptable. A picture under consideration is the work of Man Ray, named La Fortune and painted 1938 year (Whitney, n.d.). This is an example of surrealist style that has had its beginning in XX century.

A big number of artists have been influenced by Freud’s theories in the field of psychoanalytic. Man Ray’s work also has come under this number, as given painting explores connection with dream analysis and free associations (Hatt and Klonk, 175). Colored clouds on the canvas together with billiard table that is situated in some unclear space refer us to independent author’s imagination and creation of his own dimension. Freud’s successors reject the idea of madness and darkness of our minds, so the painting is in the bright colors.

According to the Freud’s theories “our mental life is not the same as our conscious life” and we have three reflections of our ego (Hatt and Klonk, 175). Two of them are considered to be unconscious and they may appear in our dreams or flow out in other aspects of our life. Art is straightforwardly connected with our subconscious mind and desires that is why some manifestations are noticeable in this sphere. Considering the strong development of technical progress and expansion of possibilities in the sphere of art such section has become a part of entertainment for people (Gorman, 14-16).

Cinema has become a significant part of art in the XX century. That has been a period when such sphere has started to develop and become a part of art. Watching movies has remained to be a pleasant and curious affair that becomes popular.
