Other methods of combating these vices according to the students are having guidance and counselling, engaging the students in more co-curriculum activities, and involving the parents against the fight.
Guidance and counselling is a perfect way of managing sexual and drug abuse. This is because, the students will be told on the dangers of engaging in early sex and also drug abuse. For example, early sex will lead to early pregnancies which in most cases leads to abortion. Abortion has negative health related impacts on girls (Ford, 2013). Most authors have argued that most girls do not know, the dangers they are exposing themselves to, when they commit abortion. Early sex will also lead to unwanted child births (Jones, 2009). These unplanned births always has negative impacts on the upbringing of the child. According to most studies, most of the prostitutes are single mothers. Therefore, in order for them to support their children they end up being prostitutes (Carson, 2007).
Engaging students in co-curricular activities has also been found to reduce sexual abuse and drug abuse. This is because most of the youths will get occupied during their free time, therefore they will not be thinking of how to engage in sex(Adams, 2013).
