Costumes also greatly contributed in the production value and effectiveness of the production. Midsummer Night’s Dream is a fantasy play with queens, kings, fairies, and the like. The intricately designed costumes talk about the personality of the character the moment the actor stands on stage. Props are also very important, and in this case interestingly used. The director was fond of surprising the audience with glitz and glamour of magical tactics with props, and even set design.

This had me thinking about the beauty of loving and being loved. Humans are gifted with the ability to think, feel and act to achieve happiness. Shakespeare seems to tell us through this play that love is a powerful thing. It can manipulate not only humans but even mythical creatures. And though we may not cast a spell to make someone fall in love with us, we work hard and do what our mortal abilities can perform for the one we love.
