 Reasons for selecting Joanna Eberhart as a representative in the film Stepford Wives the original film made in 1975 and later remade in 2004. During the year 1975 when the movie Stepford Wives was first released, it was widely regarded just as one of the chilling parables about men’s fears of feminism at the same time it was considered as a tale of horror which worked as a one of the social satire on bigotry. It earlier version just jumps from one event to another very quickly and do not clearly give the reader sufficient time to identify and know the character since its more of tale than the story as it is the case with Disney’s version. One of the best examples is basically how Grimm’s version is able to only go for approximately three pages where as Disney version extends for a longer duration. Looking at Grimm brothers, it uses similar archetypes in almost all their different tales since it the major writing style preferred by them. Some of the common examples used are bad witches, wicked stepmothers or even evil witches and always heroine or hero ending by winning and saving the day (Disney, 1958). One of the interesting facts is how Grimm’s version and style of writing is depicted based on the peasant world they were brought up. As a result of this reflection of peasantry growing up, it is assumed that they would definitely note approve Disney’s version. In addition, another element about their writing style is how their tales include communication between human and animals and magic’s. Furthermore, Grimm version when compared to other versions is creature for fish where they foretell the birth of the baby according to all Grimm versions. Majorly there are thirteen fairies which is only invited as a the Queen and the King have only twelve sets of crockery and cutlery, this is contrary to other versions where she is never invited because they think she is already dead or even she is evil and that is exactly why they don’t invite her at all. In this version the prince is conveniently so worried moving around the castle and gets through the thick thorns. This is very different from other versions where the king was determined to find by moving all through the thick castle until he found her and kissed her. In summery, Grimm’s version is quite different from other versions since it is a greater, better and shorter and it is a very quick tale that demonstrates the moral at the conclusion. Though the version does not easily allow us to able to know any of the characters because it is not longer enough, therefore the reader is not engaged as compared to Disney or Perrault versions. This means that those stories or events that exited in the earli9er days would definitely repeat themselves or change a bit though all are applicable to our daily activities. For instance the Stepford wives story clearly shows how women were being treated during those earlier days and comparing to what some societies are doing, they are almost being treated the same. Though a few people in the current society have been able to change their mentality and they are no more behaving the same. Therefore, base of the main character Eberhart Joanna one would argue out that feminism is still being practiced in our current society though at a low rate. This being the fact, stories and tales are majorly tailored by authors to reflect exactly what has ever happened, what is happening or what is anticipated to happen in future. Even if some changes are made but they clearly reflect the realities in the society as a whole or what a portion of it are going through.
