Building an Art Museum Before going into the issue of developing an ideal art museum, we should first get to know the basic meaning or definition of the word ’art’ because without getting a proper know how of art, we can never be able to fully understand its philosophy and viewpoint. So, let’s begin with explaining art. Art Art can be defined in the way of something getting done in an extraordinary way. Like doing something as never done before or ability of doing something in a different and special way. When we use our skills, abilities and imagination to create or renovate something in a unique way, it is an art. Or if we try and become successful in creating some aesthetic and artistic objects, environment, and atmosphere that the people admire and appreciate, we call it an art of doing something. Art does mean to do something or perform something which can be done by any other person like sleeping, drinking, eating or going for an exercise. These are the acts which do not involve mental exceptionality and thus can never be termed as an art. Art means to do something uniquely. “With the most primitive means the artist creates something which the most ingenious and efficient technology will never be able to create” (Malevich K.). If we go on to recreate nature or realism in context of our own judgments and findings, we are going to perform an art based on our thinking. The basic aim and plan of each and every artist is to depict nature, grab different motions of life, and catch certain facts of nature and to translate those facts by means of paintings, sculptures and drawings. Every artist has his own ideas and the views to see different aspects of nature. The art of translating them in paintings and other models is what we call fine arts. My philosophy of art Now, if I talk about my philosophy of art, I would say that art is a creation of ideas related to different aspects of life according to our own thinking and judgments. If we want to achieve something which initially seems difficult, then the process we use to stabilize its difficulty level and then to achieve the desired results on basis of our creative abilities, this is an art of doing something exceptionally. Art doesn’t have any boundaries or limits. It is not restricted to countries, continents or genders. Any person in this world who has a desire to create something or innovate something according to his personal ability, talent and aptitude level, and he successfully achieves his motive, he is an artist. In my view, an art is to make other persons believe in what we create or design and make them accept it as a truth and reality. “When we speak of something that creates an aesthetic experience, we are usually talking about some form of art” (Cline A.). I see the philosophy of art as determination of a truth and reality by studying ideas and aptitudes of those persons or artists around whom the human history revolves. And not only studying those ideas, but also applying them as a beneficial reality and truth of life. I will say that greatest and perfect art is to combine the beautiful and everlasting relationship of humans with the world in which we live. We can never talk about this relationship as something not related to us. Instead we all are a part of this world and nature of this world. So for the purpose of recreation, if we want to make some research on any thing present in this world, we will have to consider that specific thing as ourselves. Like if we want to study a bird, we will have to consider that we are that specific bird and we will have to feel those emotions and sentiments what that bird feels. I am saying this because we are not separate to this world. We are all linked to each other in some mysterious way. Here I will say that the world in which we live contains many different colors, senses and relationships in it. And all of these relationships have some impact on each of us. A perfect way to make these relationships full of color and combined forever is termed to as an art. I will also say that everything we see is not considered as a truth. We see a lot of things around us which are of different natures and characters and we have made different considerations about those things in our mind which is not always true. There are certain things in this world which fall against our representation about them. It’s our mind which has made particular considerations about different thing. Like when we say that the sea is green, it’s not actually green in color, it’s the shade of trees which are around the sea. Similarly when we say that the sky is blue in color, it’s not actually blue, it’s something which our minds has created for ourselves. It is art which has got the ability to make us realize the actual facts. Art makes certain corrections of our minds’ depiction of truth and actuality. In my view, art is a perfect way to convey or express our own feelings and those of other things in nature to all humans in the world. Art makes an ideal and a wonderful way for an artist to communicate with the world by expressing and showing hidden feelings and emotions. Art awakens those feelings of a person which can not be realized in our fast pace of life. It makes us realize such feelings and emotions which we have left so much behind but we need them to be as an essential part of life. I would say that it is an artist who develops some art and it is an art which develops the most essential sentiments and sensations in us. Museum Before probing into what my museum would be, we should get to know about museum itself. A museum is a storage house for collecting some specific sort of entities. Or, we can say that a museum is an edifice or an organization which keeps in itself a collection of different objects made by different people. It is a place where various entities and models are kept so that people may come from different places of the world and view them. It contains different kinds of historic and modern collection of objects which have a deep relation with the history of the world. For any museum, variety and unique range of collection plays a vital role in success and exposure of the museum .Various kinds of antiques are kept in place so that they may give an edge and increase to the value of that specific museum. These antiques are collected from different parts of the world and there are specific persons hired by the museum to locate and buy them for the publicity of the museum. There are various types of museums located all over the world. Some basic types of the museums are art, open-air, historical, marine collection and science museums. My mission statement My mission is to “develop an extraordinary, astonishing and wonderful art museum where high demanding collections and antiques from all over the world will be kept so that every visitor to my country must make a visit to my museum thus contributing to the triumph of the museum and making it ranked as ‘best museum’ in whole world”. Purpose of an art museum Talking about museums, let’s have a focus on purpose of an art museum and how should it work. In my view, an art museum is a place or building where collections related to art are kept in place for preserving and exhibiting them. It may also be termed as art galleries where different painting, sculptures and models made by different artists are kept. In my museum I will include various types of art which will contribute to the success of my museum. Some of them are: Drawings Sculptures Applied art Video art Metal work (bronze, silver and gold work) Artist books, illustrations and quote books The purpose of an art museum is to display of different archaeological objects. An art museum collects various types of artistic antiques and objects and houses them. Then various exhibitions are made by the museum to get those collections available for the public to be viewed and admired. An art museum preserves exceptional and high quality art from all over the world for visitors and local citizens who make visits to that specific museum which contributes to the tourism industry of the country. An art museum should have different departments for different fields of art. Like there should be oil paintings department which will show all art related to oil painting. And also sculptures department where the sculptures should be kept in place. Same goes for all other departments. An art museum should be made in those parts of the country where tourism industry is on high peaks. It should have a proper website which will guide and inform people and tourists about the museum so that if they make a visit to that country, they must come to that specific museum. I would also like to say that all works from different artists should be kept in chronological order according to their artists’ name as to ensure easy accessibility for the people who make a visit to the museum. Whom I would like to visit my museum In my art museum, at the opening ceremony I will invite presidents, prime ministers, high officials of the tourism industries of all countries of the world to make it a memorable and successful ceremony. I would keep art works from all famous artists of the world including Sandro Buticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso and many others. I would like children, parents, teachers and persons from all fields of profession to come and enjoy the most valuable collection of art from all over the world. Works of art that I would use for startup Following are some of the works of art that I would like to purchase for the startup and initial exhibition of my art museum: 1. Title: Seated Woman Artist: William de Kooning (1904-1997) Material: Oil and Charcoal on Masonite Date: 1940 Place of housing: Gallery 119, American Art, First Floor, Philadelphia Museum of Art. I want it in my museum because it truly reflects the artist’s mind. The artist reflects aggressive revision for female figure in the modern world. I like the oil canvas material also and I have made questionnaires regarding materials and majority of people voted was oil canvas style. 2. Title: Breton Girls Dancing Artist: Paul Gauguin (1848-1903) Material: Oil on Canvas Date: 1888 Place of housing: The Cleveland Museum of Art I want it in my museum because it reflects the artist’s idea of depicting freedom enjoyed by the little kids on oil on canvas painting. And also it will be really liked by the age group of 8 to 12 years which will add to appreciation of my museum. 3. Title: Fortune Teller Artist: Georges De (French painter) Material: Oil on Canvas Date: 1632 Place of housing: Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York In this beautiful painting, the artist has painted out a scene in which a person is worried about his luck and destiny and he asks a fortune teller to show him his coming future. I want it in my store because it makes us realize that we all are worried about our future in different aspects. 4. Title: Equestrian Statue Artist: Leonardo Da Vinci Material: Bronze Date: 1516 Place of housing: Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest In the above picture, famous artist, Leonardo da Vinci has made an Equestrian statue in bronze material. The artist has beautifully and artistically depicted the warriors of that specific era. I want it in my museum because artworks made up of bronze material are greatly liked by people and especially when the artist is a famous one. 5. Title: Fruit Artist: Theodoor (Flemish painter) Material: Oil on panel Date: 1653 Place of housing: Koninklijik Museum Voor Schone Kunsten, Antwerp In the above painting, the artist, theodoor, has painted a picture of different fruits placed in nice way. The theme is to show the importance and beauty which comes in our life due to presence of different mouth-watering fruits in this world.
