? Nonwestern Art and Western Art History Art is known as product of human activities that focus on the creation of photographs, sculptures, print work, visual arts, and paintings (Adams 10). Visual arts on the other hand have sub-genres of architecture and decorative arts. The artist must have visualization of visual considerations that help in creations of perfect artwork. Art may also be classified into other genres that include film, dance, theatre, literature, music, and performing arts. Artistic culture has been evident in different locations worldwide. This is due to different artistic artwork that has emanated from ancestors from different locations worldwide. In the 17th and 18th century art was known to be a skill or mastery of craft by the involved people. It did not have a lot of meaning since it was part of the social activities taking place on the traditional era. Cultural integration has led to interactions between the west and nonwestern art (Becker 18). In the past, most there were no improved transport and communication networks hence artwork was a community’s symbol. In most cases, around the world there has been increased adoption of non-western art since in the traditional era art was mostly found in the non-western parts of the world. Countries such as Egypt hosted most if the artists who encrypted their artwork in stone. Their artwork is found in historical monuments such as the Egyptian pyramids. However, their artwork was adopted by other generations leading to popular artwork in the present day. Countries such as Europe also had some of the most famous artist who lived in the 18th and 19th century. Art can also be categorized based on different cultures that were found in different countries. This means that each country has its own identity based on the artwork. For example, the art of China is very different to art from Africa. Each culture has its own type of art. A painting would be drawn from different countries but differ in some elements due to culture. The artwork has roots in various indigenous cultures that affected America (Kafel 22). The indigenous cultures of each sophisticated artistic art discipline but has been highly affected by the religious and social activities. Artwork ranges from one society to another due to the various cultural activities practiced in the society. For example, some societies are influenced by the love the wildlife activities, agricultural activities, art of war and social activities. In the present day, artistic work, non-western culture has adopted the Western culture. This has been a result of social integration and integration. It has been made possible by improved transport and communication networks globally. Modern day art students have a variety of artistic work to choose from during their course work. Most art institutions offer different type of arts. They include the Western art, Non-western art and a combination of the two types of art. According to researchers and the opinion, fro the artists the artwork has many challenges revolving around (Adams 57). The history of artwork from the traditional era, modern, pre-modern, and postmodern artwork has been affected by a series of problems in the chain of the artwork. The chain of artwork ranges from artist to the buyer. An artist’s work passes through before reaching the customer this channel. However, in the artwork we have the presence of the brokers whom their main aim is to find the market for the artist items. The sculptures, paintings, and photography are the items in the artwork that have a high market demand in the history of the artwork. The increased crave for art has shifted from the pre-modern state to the post-modern state. According to the researchers, its shifts and crave have also brought about various problems that have affected the artwork globally. Artwork being a vital factor affecting the underdeveloped and developed countries economy is being faced by a series of challenges. These challenges have affected the country’s gross national product through the problems affecting the chain of artwork. Research has revealed a number of critical problems affecting the artwork. There are legal problems involving and affecting the artwork. The selling artwork through dealers, agents, galleries, and artist representatives build up a business relationship. This business relationship involves the artist entrusting his representative or agent to sell his sculptures, paintings, or photographs on his behalf and then pay the artist a certain percentage of the sales. However, a problem may arise where one of the parties does not honor the contract. A solution to this problem is the introduction of laws to help protect the artist. Another problem affecting the artwork is the presence of the increased rates of counterfeit artwork (Kafel 22). Counterfeit artwork affects the artist work, determination and morale since it makes it possible for the artwork to be available to the public at a lower price. This setback has been evident especially in the non-western countries. This is due to lack of laws and regulations governing art industry. Most of the artwork is from European countries dated back to the 1900s. Advancement in technology has led to the invention of new software such as Photoshop that is used to create perfect paintings. In fact, there are cases that paintings made from computer software look real as compared to an artiste’s work. This has been a major setback and challenge since the customers are not able to identify the original artwork. According to research, there has been an increase in the number of black-markets globally to an extent that such markets are available online through the internet. This has led to the increase of illegal markets where thieves and fake artists can sell their stolen merchandise. A solution to this problem is the introduction of governing bodies that help reduce counterfeit work through strict consequences. The lack of the market has also posed a threat to artwork. Most artists cannot get their artwork into international markets and when they have a chance, they face competition from other cheap artistic works. There is also the problem where artwork cannot be sold within the same location and culture. However, on the other hand markets can be created through government programs with the international markets. Artwork is part of the history connecting the tradition state, modern, post modern, pre modern and the post modern (Mackenzie 25). This has become evident where currently the individuals in the pre modern world still admire the artwork of the individuals in the underdeveloped countries. Most of the individuals in the developed countries visit the underdeveloped countries to admire their cultural activities, which normally appear in the form of carvings, paintings, sculptures, and photographs.
