Picasso and Braque Pablo Picasso born 1881, lived through to 1973 while Georges Braque was born in 1882 to 1963. These two renowned artists left behind a colorful legacy forever respected in the Art Movement known to as cubism. Through cubism, both shared a common and unique vision which was their intricately intimate mode of communication. From 1907 through to 1914, Braque and Picasso anticipated and delicately made cubism their preferred mode of communication. This led then to produce works of art which were are still regarded as one of the most productive art movements of the 20th century.

This was especially the case every time the two were close to one another (Art History Pages, n.d.). Their works of art included paintings, prints construction sculptures, drawings, pasted papers and collages. They first met and became acquaintances in 1907. However, in 1914, Braque joined the army when the First World War began. The united thoughts of these two great artists provided enthusiasts of the cubism art movement with a crystal clear understanding of the different emotions which they exquisitely aligned and relayed a common and uniform mental image.

They progressed on together as friends through the years frequently visiting each other’s studios and discussed widely on issues that related to art. It is evident from their artwork that each had varying tastes but such differences are what ensured that their bond was ever close (Art History Pages, n.d.). Georges Braque made paintings that were basically robustly constructed, still life and expressed a high degree of artistic meditation. Braque was born French man, he was raised by his father who was himself an art decorator and as he grew from a young boy to a man, these influence consistent with richness in texture and dexterity rubbed on to Braque.

He moved to the city if Paris at seventeen years of age. While in Paris, he and Picasso met and together began to ideally develop on cubism in a rather systematic reconsideration of structure. This they did as analytical Cubism and progressively moved on to gradually apply less color tending to take preference towards earth brown colors in an effort to steer clear of being restricted to the traditional art forms. They developed this art movement towards a higher degree of aesthetic dimensions.

It was such that as an art enthusiast viewed their paintings for some period of time, there was the tendency to see that at different angles, the image gets to be complicated to a point whereby the paintwork appears to loose its sense of artistic form (Art History Pages, n.d.). Pablo Picasso was born a Spaniard in the year 1881. He too was trained, taught and natured to master art by his father. This began when Picasso was still of a tender age as his works show a vivid inclination towards a tendency to conserve Spain’s artistic features and traditions.

While in his early twenties, he travelled to the city of Paris where he continued to apply his preferred earthen colors with a more subtle application of paint from a pallet. Picasso’s earlier artworks show that he was frequently faced with difficult times and during these periods used emotionally blue hued colors. This was especially the case when he was or had financial troubles or the loss of a dear friend. His artworks portray a high degree of mystery in a definitively poetic sense of imagery (Art History Pages, n.d.).

His later artworks are composed of gentle and bright colors probably showing that at such times he felt a higher level of inner peace and was more comfortable with events in his life. Using pink and red colors, he produced artworks which were in most instances composed of people who were in pleasant party moods and with an idyllic atmosphere. Figuratively, some of the artworks he produced were inclined towards prostitution and was at times seemingly influenced by a rather raw interpretation of Africanism as well as prostitution expressed in a frame of mind that apparently was radically emotional.

In later years their works of art became more and more inclined towards a rather unique similarity. This was a collaboration which is viewed a having produced quite a lasting impression as to their leaning to such mannerism in art that were essentially a form of visual communication through which they coordinated among artists with divergent, aesthetic and literally wonderful mode of communication. Through their paintings and other form of art they expressed their perceptions of the society and effects with which their lives were affected by the culture of the world at that time (Art History Pages, n.d.).
