? Event Logistic and Risk: Master Delivery Schedule Overview of the Riverfestival: Riverfestival is an event that has received global recognition andis organized in a systematic and a planned manner. It definitely needs detailed planning and a through insight to make a successful strategy for this event because of the level that it is carried out at. It includes activities such as, the raft race, firework display, live music, presenting of the colors, wildlife display with live eagles, fly fishing demonstration, climbing wall, giant roving salmon puppet etc. This festival is known by many names such as Smoky Hill River Festival, Maidstone river festival, festival of the river etc. The River festival is held every year at several locations. This event is run in both forms, be it free of cost or trade fare events. These kinds of festivals are necessary for society so that people can interact with each other and are given a platform to turn the life into joy and fun. In today’s times every individual is tied up in their busy schedules and is busy neck deep in trying to make ends meet. Therefore, they do not find time to interact with each other and celebrate the life. Thus, these kinds of festivals are medium to connect people and give them a chance to get off their busy lifestyles and enjoy life. It is significant to note that people only want to go in festivals or celebrations that give them adequate amount of entertainment and leisure, which is only possible through good event management. The specialty of this river festival is that it provides high quality services and entertainment to visitors and that’s the reason it has gained immense popularity over the years. Another reason for the increasing popularity of this river festival is its association with Brisbane festival. Brisbane is also a big series of events, which is now merged with the River festival. Reason behind the merger is to give it the potential to be the best festival in the whole of Australia. A large globally renowned Australian production company is also associated with this festival render its quality support. Thus, best event management services are planned to make the even a huge success. Various cultural programs, music shows, visual arts etc. are included in this festival to make it more interesting so that largest crowd can be attracted to the event (Maidstone river festival 2010). Identification and roles of key operations stakeholders: Key operations stakeholders are significant entities in any master delivery schedule and the recognition of these key operations stakeholders is of prime importance. In Riverfestival, operations stakeholders play an important part and the success of this large scale event will be dependent on the same. Good operations stakeholders are identified by observing the activities being performed by various parties in Riverfestival. However, operations stakeholders claim their roles and perform the allocated tasks in the Riverfestival, if they perform good activities, then management of festival would not be a problem (Phillips and Stawarski 2008). Stakeholders of Riverfestival have various functions. These stakeholders include transportation agencies, law enforcement agencies, public safety agencies, event organizers, elected official etc. The public safety agencies include fire and EMS. Emergency services and other concerned services for good event management in Riverfestival are only possible by proper coordination of all the stakeholders involved. Thus, it is obvious that stakeholders play a significant role in the success of Riverfestival. Implementation of various programs in an appropriate manner is also important. All programs are executed with the help of proper involvement of stakeholders (Global expertise in meeting and event management). Outline of traffic management planning and operations: Traffic management planning and operations is also an important criterion for the success of Riverfestival. Traffic management planning includes good traffic control services required in a festival of this large a scale. River festival is a grand festival with visitors pouring in from across the world, good traffic management planning and operations are absolutely necessary for its success (Marczyk, DeMatteo and Festinger 2005). Traffic management includes travel demand. Travel demand refers to the anticipated number of event patrons. It also includes arrival as well as departure time so that time can be saved for further utilization. Another element that is required in the travel management and operation is vehicle occupancy. Travel management and operation is a significant aspect, which is concerned with success of event management in Riverfestival. Modal split has a significant impact on travel management and operation; mainly on traffic operations in this festival (Walters 2002). Modal split is good for Riverfestival in another aspect. This aspect is related with event patrons who are important entity in the organizing team. Event patrons can travel to the event by any mode at the same time ensuring that their mode of travel does not pose any disturbances in the otherwise planned traffic management. These means of transportation include their personal vehicle, walking, transit or combination of modes. Road or site capacity is also significant in this transportation management and operations. Event operations, such as expected attendance and market area, security needs, additional information which is given to event patrons, event venue and venue configuration, pre and post event actions which impact on demand all are significant (Annual stillaguamish festival of the river). Identification and treatment of negative social and environmental impacts: It is vital to note that various negative social and environmental impacts are also prevalent in this Riverfestival. Other significant factor is identification of these negative impacts those are concerned with social and environmental factor. However, it is tried that festival should not has any flaw but as it is well known that nothing is perfect. Therefore this Riverfestival has also some negatives aspects those are mainly related with social and environmental impacts (Silvers 2004). This social and environmental impact can be any hindrance in the execution of good plans in festival. Various societal persons support to these kinds of festivals, because they take positive aspects of these events, while some persons do not support to these events due to certain reasons. These persons think that Riverfesival kinds of festivals are just wasting of time and money. Environmental impacts include various factors such as natural calamities those come suddenly. Thus, failure of festival becomes certain. These natural calamities impact negatively on this Riverfestival. Other negative environmental impact includes failure of transportation and operation management in the festival. If these transportation and other management failures, then event management in festival does not prove good (Wagen 2005). Furthermore, it is significant to identify to these negative aspects those are present in the Riverfestival. Recognition of these negative factors is not end task, but to give treatment and to eliminate of these negative factors is main task for success of Rivergestival. As it is stated earlier that an Australian big group is also associated to support to this festival, therefore aid can also be taken from this group. Thus, proper identification and treatment of these negative impacts should be done (Robinson, Clifford 2007). Logical schedule of production tasks, physical resources and staff: Riverfestival is a grand festival of Australia that is followed and appreciated by visitors from across the world. Not only do people from Australia come for entertainment in this festival, but also people from different countries come in this festival. Thus, event management should be proper in this festival. However, best event management services are tried in this festival, some flaws and shortcomings still remain. Thus, chances of improvements are always existent in this festival. Logical schedule of production tasks, physical resources and staff are main part of this Riverfestival. Thus, recruitment of a good staff is required for success of this festival. It is also keep in mind that productions tasks are allotted to right person at right time, so that best quality can come. Good physical resources are also need and these are only possible when each person in this festival take his or her responsibility by heart (2007-2012 major events plan). Industry standard formatting of documentation: Documentation is an important part of operation in this River festival so that all data can be maintained for future use. It is also required because official records are required to be maintained as proper and acceptable formatting of documentation. It means, documentation of system needs proper formatting which should follow the industry standards. Industry standards suggest that violation of industry act should not be strictly avoided all must adhere to all legal aspects (Tassiopoulos 2006). Event’s master plan: Master plan is essential for an event’s success. A famous saying about master plan is “master-plan takes care of the details, so you can take care of the business”. Various innovative ideas are required for a good master plan, which is further implemented in an event’s success. Skills are needed for cost-effective planning is of prime significance in master-plan. Thus, highest quality event is only possible when a good master plan is formulated (Master plans: events and design). Conclusion: This paper is concerned with master delivery schedule of a large scale event- The Riverfestival. Various aspects of this grand Riverfestival events have been discussed to gain an insight of activities that go into making the even a huge success. These aspects are identification of roles of key operation stakeholders, outline of traffic management planning and operations, identification and treatment of negative social and environmental impacts.
