1. I do not agree that RFID tags should be used to monitor human beings. While the argument exists that such a system could prevent child abductions or help us keep track of our pets and the elderly, these luxuries come at too great a compromise. Submitting to the use of RFID tags to track human beings as well as their behavior would be to wipe humanity clean of privacy. Humans should not be reduced to cattle. The implications of such a technology and infrastructure could be disastrous from a social, moral, and ethical standpoint.

While there are benefits to being able to locate everyone and everything, I am afraid that the bad far outweighs the good in regards to RFID tags. I enjoy living in a society where everything and everyone isn't monitored by a tracking device, but if we did I would choose the RFID tags because it has so many similarities to the society we live in now. The ability to track down packages as well as people would be very helpful. I do acknowledge the argument that it will allow people to do illegal stalking, but I'm sure that the system will balance itself out.

The RFID badges would play a major role in helping humans do things that took more manpower to do previously. RFID badges would play the role of a Global Positioning System (GPS) when traveling because you'd never be lost because your love ones or a traveling assistance service could locate your exact whereabouts. This technology is in many General Motor automobiles and customers seem to welcome the safety feature. RFID badges would assist in monitoring people within the prison system to make sure they don't successfully escape.

Our current society has adopted the trendy cellular phone which carries a lot of our personal information and it's a form of a tracking device. Although with cell phones you can choose not to answer, but the point is that it can provide your location.There are reasons why we should veer away from the idea of using RFID tags. It could get into the wrong person hand such as a pedophile. A pedophile could use the technology to track down a child for foul reasons. The tag could be used to track very expensive goods that would lead to another way of helping robbers.

Also, people find it there right to choose rather or not they want their location concealed.2. I definitely agree that a society full of WearComp might be strange and impersonal. But, I also agree that I would rather live in a world where people are "plugged-in" rather than a world where I am being tracked and catalogued like grocery store meat. Neither option is wholly appealing, but I am inclined to go with the lesser of two evils. I would choose a world that is virtual and indifferent to a world where humans are tracked and watched if given the choice.

RFID tags empower the system and provide entirely too much information to many people at once. At least with Wear Comp, the individual is empowered and can enter or exit the system at will.I suppose that I would rather live in a society where everyone is plugged into a WearComp all day. Even though people would probably spend much more time Online and not talking to people face to face, and probably forgetting about the "real" world because the Internet is embedded into their eyeglasses, at least people aren't tracked and traceable like with RFID.

A world with RFID leads to bigger problems. Like the school children in the letter we read. Any pedophile could buy one of the tracking devices that pick up the RFID signals and figure out where any of the school children were at a particular time. They would know when one little boy or girl was off playing alone, and they would know exactly where to find them. There are plenty of other ways to make sure that children go to school, instead of treating them like prisoners. It becomes a much scarier situation than WearComp, where people have direct access 24/7 to the Internet carried around with them on their physical space.

It's not as scary of a society as it is just dumb and would probably get boring if people were looking out of their sunglasses to look at the world around them, and only saw the desk top of a computer screen.
