As such, various mechanisms can be used to analyse such systems with a view to understand it better and assess any given entity that is based on a systematic platform (Nakamori 101). Consequently, an analysis of a computer assisted surgery process under a hierarchical task analysis (HTA) can effectively highlight the intricate details involved in such a system. A computer assisted surgery refers to any surgical procedure that is performed by a surgeon or team of surgeons through the assistance of a computer system particularly tailored for the purpose.

This is a general definition, and the specifics involved in computer assisted surgery are as diverse as the entire varieties that define surgeries in the medical industry. Additionally, computer assisted surgery is linked with robotic surgery since most robots used in surgery are guided by computer systems. Therefore, computer assisted surgery can be as basic as a computer system being used to facilitate a convenient and efficient surgery through image processing, or a more complex system whereby a computer system is used in performing an entire surgery through the help of specific robotics (Klir 386).

From this description, the complexity of computer assisted surgery is evident, and this means that it is important to understand how it fully operates so that it can be easier to optimize on its capabilities while also having a better perspective for facilitating the countering of any present challenges (Kresh & Deisboeck, 321). The features of a computer assisted surgery are basically a computer system linked to the necessary surgery procedure through some form of software or human personnel.

In light of the above description, there are various concerns that have to be highlighted in order that the system efficiency can be maximized. Nonetheless, one of the most important aspects of computer assisted surgery that warrants the performing of an HTA
