What appears to be the least satisfying? In what area(s), if any, do you feel improvements should be made? Discuss and provide appropriate descriptive statistics.

As shown in the pie chart describing the total level of satisfaction, the most satisfying aspect to the nurses is work with a total score of 42%. The mean percentage that is satisfied by work is 81.428571%, with a median of 82% and a mode of 72%. The least satisfying aspect to the nurses is pay with a total of 28%. The mean percentage that is satisfied by pay is 55.571429%, with a median of 55.5 % and a mode of 60%.

3. based on descriptive measures of variability what measures of job satisfaction appears to generate the greatest difference of opinion among the nurses? Explain and illustrate appropriately by citing part 1.

Based based on descriptive measures of variability what measures of job satisfaction, work and pay show the greatest difference? Work satisfaction has a mean score of 81.428571, with a median of 82% and a mode of 72%. The maximum score of work is 95% and the minimum score of work is 63%. The first quartile is 72%, 2nd quartile is 82% and the third quartile is 86.75%. The score of the variance is 68.693878% and a standard deviation of 8.288177. Pay on the other hand has a differing satisfaction with a mean score of 55.571429%, a median of 55.5 %, and a mode of 60%. The maximum score of work is 90% and the minimum score of work is 25%. The first quartile is 45.5%, 2nd quartile is 55.5% and the third quartile is 60%. The score of the variance is 217.47796 and a standard deviation of 14.747134.

4. What can be learned about the types of hospitals? Does any particular type of hospital seem to have better levels of job satisfaction that the other types? Do your results suggest any recommendations for learning about and/or improving job satisfaction? Discuss and provide appropriate descriptive statistics from part 1.

From the types of hospitals in the study, the results show that different numbers of nurses were interviewed in each hospital with 25 nurses interviewed in universities, 16 nurses in VA, and 8 nurses interviewed in private hospitals. In terms of work satisfaction, VA nurses have better satisfaction with a score of 79.44%. University nurses are most satisfied with pay with a score of 61.555% and private hospital nurses show the most satisfaction in terms of promotion with a score of 62.42105%.

5. What additional descriptive statistics (besides mean, median, mode, histograms, etc. that you used in this report) and insights can you use to learn about and possibly improve job satisfaction? Explain why these additional descriptive stats might help you gain additional insight. For example, if you picked quartiles (numeric descriptive stats) and line charts (graphic descriptive stats) that you didn’t use in your report explain how these particular ones might provide a little more insight (pie and percentiles are just an example of the many additional ones).

To improve job satisfaction, a much better analysis would have been done to include descriptive statistics for each level of nurses. This will include the calculation of mean, mode, median, percentiles, variance, and standard deviation for the university nurses separate from the VA nurses and private hospital nurses. Plotting line graphs and pie charts for each one of the categories would have given a better analysis of the levels of satisfaction. Read More
