Statistics Project, Political Science Overview of Theory International politics is a discipline closely relatedto international relations that is known as the political relationship or link between foreign nations (Black 65). It is a branch of political science, which is concerned with foreign affairs between countries and, specifically, international policies. In other words, international politics defines the politics of the global community in a fairly narrow sense mainly about diplomacy, as well as state relations and other political units (Black 65).
Apart political science, the discipline of international politics draws intellectual materials from the fields engineering and technology, economics, international law and history, philosophy, sociology and geography, social work, anthropology, and criminology, gender studies and psychology, culturology and cultural studies (Black 66). International politics comprehends state sovereignty, globalisation and international security, nuclear proliferation, ecological sustainability and nationalism, global finance and economic development, organised crime and terrorism, human security, human rights and foreign interventionism (Black 66).
Data Sets The data sets that were used in this study include, CIA World Factbook, IMF Statistical Databases, FedStats, ICPSR, International Federation of Data Organisations on the Net, UNESCO Institute for Statistics, OECD iLibrary, United Nations Statistics Division, World Development Indicators (WDI Online), United States Census Bureau, World Health Organisation, Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR), Integrated Network for Societal Conflict Research (INSCR), Nation Master, Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO), World Bank Data and Political Terror Scale (PTS).
The independent variable that was prevalent in these data sets was distribution of power in the global system. The dependent variable that stood out was foreign policy decision. The data sets could be found online by simply typing the name of the database and specify your topic later inside the site. The hypotheses developed include (1) that states, all the times, act in line with their national interest/concern, or the interests/concerns of that state; (2) the world is a dangerous place; (3) a state’s main interest is self-protection; (4) there is no overarching power, which can impose international rules and/or punish unlawfulness; (5) ethical behaviour is extremely risky since it can affect a state’s capacity to safeguard itself; (6) the global system itself influences states to apply military force; (7) global institution and law have no force or power; they exist only provided that states acknowledge them, and; (8) the wide ties among countries have both made it hard to describe national interest and diminished the worth of military power.
Statistical Findings In each hypothesis, Ha presents the independent hypothesis and P the dependent hypothesis. X will represent each hypothesis. Hypothesis one: This means that if states act in line with their national interest/concern, or the interests/concerns of that state, it will equal to the existing foreign policy and distribution of power. Hypothesis two: This means distribution of power is equal to risk (x) and foreign policy decisions. Hypothesis three: This means that the self-protection interest of a country will be negatively affected by the distribution of power and foreign policy.
Hypothesis four: This means that there is no overarching power, which can impose international rules and/or punish unlawfulness in that when it is put together with foreign policy decision, they equal to distribution of power. Hypothesis five: This means ethical behaviour is extremely risk. Hypothesis six: This means that the distribution of power states to apply military force. Hypothesis seven: This means that global institution and law have no force or power. They are equal to the distribution of power.
Hypothesis eight: This means that the distribution of power has made it hard to describe national interest and diminished the worth of military power. Conclusion This paper finds that distribution of power is negatively affected by international politics. This is because some nations seek to be above others. Work Cited Black, Jeremy.
