On the other hand, some see the need to pay athletes because, in the end, they establish to bring in the cash. Similarly, it is also argued that the athletes who bring in the money in the short-term period should be paid. Ideally, people have raised questions for sure. In essence, who is going to pay the players that play in college? Will it be an obligation for their respective schools or large organizations such as the NCAA? The concern mainly majors for students taking basketball or football.

To start you off, arguments opposing the idea of paying players include some of the following: College Players Do Not Earn Enough Cash to Demand Payment Simply put, students can be termed as beginners in the field of basketball and football games. Many of them have not been part of the sports for a long time. Therefore, there is a big marginal difference for money when it comes to players. For instance, professional players are enlisted to receive scholarships to cover tuition fees, accommodation, and in some cases, books.

Ideally, paying players a salary for play would be subjected to cover the above costs, not forgetting that state income taxes are also deducted. In the end, students would only be left with a small net salary, which would not count as much. Earning Large Amounts of Money Can Be Harmful Earning big at an early age can enhance financial awareness for athletes. While that is true, college students do not have the exposure of encountering big cash. Many times, it would get into their heads and misguide them in their academics.

In essence, an athlete may see that he has already achieved it in life. Hence, he will not take his academics seriously as before. In reality, players would not know how to utilize their cash to make good use of it. They may invest poorly or trust the wrong advisors to handle their finances. Similarly, they may spend lavishly because it is a habit of their age. In the end, their poor decisions make them broke. Simply put, athletes who are studying have to make use of significant financial education to manage their money responsibly in the end.

Students May Miss the Real Reason Behind Being in School Again, big cash may make students miss the purpose as to why they are in school in the first place. Being young adults, they may not have the patience to delay gratification. As such, they need to be equipped with significant life lessons and tools to help them become successful after school. In short, they have to work smart and hard in school, as they await their chance to be excellent in their favorite sports. In the same manner, another perspective paying athletes see is a worthwhile decision.

Primarily, the athletes benefit from their talents and skills in the field. Furthermore, below is more insight to answer the question, "why should college athletes be paid?" Indulging in Sports Is a Huge Risk for Students All sports require players to be enthusiastic to give out the best. Generally, loving a game such as a basketball or a football is an admirable passion. However, passion has a downside angle of it. In their quest to give their best in a particular game, some athletes suffer fatal injuries.

Even worse, they may encounter bone dislocations, ligament tears, or hamstring injuries in the muscles. Such severe cases may premature or end the athletic career of players before they even start. From another perspective, the injuries are also a disturbing factor for the scholarship of a college athlete. For instance, say a particular sport is what is holding the athlete's stay in a specific school. Failure to continue in the sport due to injuries would see the scholarship end. Therefore, athletes who put themselves in line for each game session deserve to be paid a salary to cover the health risks of their sports.

College Sports Have Big Money Athletics is a career. Other than passion, another driving force pushes athletes to do their best - the money. While it is usual for one to think that the big cash may influence the purity of the players for the game, the case isn't always valid. Money is a strong force that pushes college athletes to perform well in the field. College Players Should Not Feel Used Many athletes are the reason behind the profiting of major branding companies. In essence, the companies ask athletes to dress in various sporting apparel when they are in the field.

Well, why should a player wear the outfit without being paid to do it? The Bottom Line As much as paying players disputes the purpose of why they are in school, it is also a way of appreciating their talent to play. Simply put, paying athletes is not morally wrong. With proper financial advice and education, they can wrap their heads around the life-changing earnings.
