There is always a very unique and compelling reason that makes one attend a game and make it worth the effort made. Most of the other conventional kinds of sports with other higher international bodies have notably higher monetary objectives. Comparison of the experience of attending the event and watching the event on TV Since my very young and early age, I was always had a fascination with EPL soccer. At that time I did not even know why I felt that great desire but I was much gravitated towards Arsenal and especially because of the style they used to play. It was just recently when I watched a movie on ‘Green Street Hooligans” and then later developed an interest in West Ham United because of how intriguing it was. Late last summer, I was in London and I had decided to spend my holiday there. It was with a lot of determination that I wanted to get to my first EPL match. The match was going to be between West hams United vs. Aston Villa at the Boleyn ground (Baran 1999). This was going to be the last game of West Ham’s in that season and since I had been advised that a great crowd was expected, and then I had to purchase my ticket beforehand. Since I had great love for rambunctious crowds, then I had to go and make sure if being there was as interesting as it was from looking at it from the TV. The proceedings of the game were a blast and being there to witness this whole episode was an experience that I would never compare it with any other fun experience. Watching the goals being scored by both teams was so fascinating. The post –game festivities were something that one could not help but appreciate. As we walked along the green street looking for joints where we could hang out and celebrate and this was a very interesting experience that I could not have felt by just watching the live football match being aired or even a recorded video on the same. On the other hand, having to sit back at home and watch the game would have also had its share of good and bad experiences. It can be said to be very convenient because you will do it in the comfort of your home and no travelling hustles will be necessary. There will be no need of going to the movie theater or even purchasing tickets. It can become a very entertaining experience if this was done with the other family members especially if you have divided fanatics of the teams (Baran 1999). This is the reason why television as a media of technology, is regarded as domestic medium. It is known to provide entertainment and information right inside our homes and it has become a very integral part of our everyday lives (Sparks 2004). The watching of the Television is known to also influence the content also. The domestic nature of watching television makes it to be like an intimate experience compared to the overcrowding situation in the sports arena (Wertham 1954). Legal Framework Organizations that are well run require knowledgeable individuals to try and manage the potential event risks .It would be important for them to acknowledge that injuries can occur any time and this can led to litigation. The sports manager gains a greater comprehension and appreciation of the need to develop and implement a risk management plan that is specific for tailgating activities. This is the first step in managing risks at sports event. It is the duty of the sports manager to recognize the value of force ability. They also should consider the content of liabilities and the duties. The content of these liabilities helps in understanding the importance for the development and implementation of risk managements. I was very impressed with the change because, I was able to walk and jump around, rather than sit down the whole time. This theory emphasizes that the mass media mostly influences the norms by either reinforcing or changing them completely. When watching the sports event on the Television, it will encourage the viewer to have a more active lifestyle and encourage the individuals to join in such activities like playing ball rather than staying idle the whole day. Most of the young people will want to identify with the football stars, and this will influence their attitude towards playing ball games and even make them better. Construction of social reality The media plays an important role in the development of the social realization of the individuals. When one attends the real event, it becomes a chance of exposure to all kinds of people with different attitudes and behaviors (Baran 1999). It is in such gatherings that one is able to interact with people from different social classes and cultures and at least learn a thing or two from them. In my own experience, I was able to learn several ways of cheering for my favorite team as well as ways of having the aftermath celebrations in the most memorable way. This was also due to the alterations and stabilization effects of the media (Sparks 2004). It was due to this dramatic exposure that I was able to get the real picture of what it feels like to be in sports arena. Language is a guide to social reality and not just a guide to solving specific problems that are concerned with communication and reflection. It was during this experience that I was able to encounter people who used to speak different languages and I even learnt some of them. Catalytic hypothesis In the course of the game, it became easy to predict the direct ion in which the game was heading. It was even more entertaining to do this in unison as this made the game even more interesting. In the family viewing, it was also possible to have this hypothesis, but it was less entertaining. Conclusion This experience was very educative in many aspects and it helped me change my attitudes and way of thinking in relation to sports (Dale 1935).
