Little Tokyo There is a lot that can be said about the Japanese heritage and their association in the United s and how they have come a long way in to integrating of their culture in to the American Society. The people from the country of Japan started migrated to the United States in the year 1868, mostly during the Meiji Restoration. They began to migrate to the Island of Hawaii where they laid camp before they started coming to the mainland. They used sailing vessels to come to the mainland and land on the shores of America. This was because of a result of the Chinese Exclusion Act in the year 1882. These meant that the world was because they were being sort out by the increasing industrialists of the world. This was because there was a reducing number of the Chinese Immigrants in the country, who they were meant to replace in the industrial era. They were coming in the masses and they grew in number, which meant there was a growing rate in the resentment by the natives. They were known to be able to replacing the native Americans from the jobs in the industrial sector and the farming. There was even a movement that was formed in order to run their Anti-Japanese perceptions. These lead to an agreement by the Japanese Government and the United States made a gentleman agreement to stop the immigration of the Japanese residents in to the United States. This reduced the number of immigrants from the Japanese and they later were split into well defined groups that lived in a Japanese American Community. The paper will give focus to the Little Tokyo that is based in the downtown Los Angeles. It is one of the largest populations of Japanese immigrants that live in North America. It is very important to notice that there is a very large population of Japanese immigrants that reside in the Little Tokyo. This was established in the year 1905. It was said to have had a population size of 3500 Japanese residents at the time and it was mixed with the colonies of other ethnic groups including the Jews and the Russians. The area became a hotspot for other Japanese immigrants who saw it as a popular town to go settle in when in the United States. There a number of high end contributions to the development of the little Tokyo and it became a very important business hub town for the residents at the time. There were increases businesses that were seen to be growing in the region and made sure that it could become a very vibrant town due to the late night businesses and activities propagated by the Japanese immigrants. The Japanese Americans had become a very significant ethnic group in the American society and were known for their vegetable trades that were the result of the successful farms that were across the country in the South of California. In the year 1941 there was a wide spread growth of the Japanese immigrants in the country and it was made possible by the growing number of businesses that existed owned by the Japanese immigrants. They were mostly living in the Little Tokyo. During the World War 2 there was an incarceration exercise where the government was responsible in taking control of the Japanese immigrants for fear of an uprising at the time. The vacant properties that were taken from the Japanese residents were taken by the Latino ethnic groups that also had arrived in the country as immigrants. This saw the increase in more African American groups flood the area of Los Angeles to seek jobs and other work in place of the vacant man power jobs that were vacated by the incarcerated Japanese immigrants. This resulted in the Little Tokyo being filled to capacity as there were more and more people coming in from different parts of America to seek for employment. Employment was a key factor for the mass migrations that happened in the Little Tokyo, and it became apparent that it would be a place where people would go and get some income. But there was a problem that existed after the war where there no more properties and the Japanese town of Little Tokyo was forced to be flooded by the Japanese immigrants who had been captured and kept in the detainment areas. In the 1950s there was a very large population of Japanese Immigrants at the time and they were able to replace the Mexican and Latino groups that replaced them during the war. They were able to reclaim back what they had lost and discovered their rhythm after the war was over. They managed to set up even more businesses for the American population to go buy from them. They had the best agribusiness ideas and were doing very well in their own right. There were more and more corporations that were being built by the Japanese Americans who wanted to make it big in the country. They were able to come up with different business ideas that had been originated from their native land and introduced it to the American society where it was met with open arms. They had been labeled as the masters of trade and were doing very well when it came to the business sector. The Japanese American society has ever since been in the front line when it comes to the investing of business ideas in the country. They have also contributed to the opening up of very lucrative businesses that includes; fast foods, shopping plazas, and even the hotel industry. This is mainly based in the Los Angeles area where they have been setting base for many years. There is also a contribution when it comes to the banking industry where they have also set foot and are doing well for their businesses to grow. They have been laying focus on growing more Japanese American businesses that will ensure they get ahead in their seeking for a better opportunity in the country. This meant that the Little Tokyo has to be transformed into a new modern town with the renovation of buildings and also the additions of many more buildings to make it look new and elegant. This makes the Japanese a very industrious people with very efficient business minds. There have been many cases when it comes to the issue of Land Use laws and the Little Tokyo has been a point of debate for many years. It meant that the country would be able to spend numerous amounts of money in the making sure that the Japanese Americans have proper use of their lands. There has been an increased level of development when it comes to the Little Tokyo and what it has done for the country. The Japanese American society has been in the lime light when it comes to the most influential cultures in the country. They have led so many influences in their way of doing business , their way of thinking, also in the way that they practice farming and also the way they handle their food. Most Japanese cultures are of a living honorably and simple life traditions. They also value their health very much and they have brought a lot of health and innovative foods in the catering and hotel industry. This allows for most people who take their food to become healthy. This is one of the positive influences in, which the Japanese American society have influenced the country. They have also brought a form of change in to the way we live our lives in terms of being more practical and simple. Their life styles are usually based on the notion of necessity and reduction on waste materials. They also believe in efficiency, which makes them very good at doing business at any level. This is the reason why the Little Tokyo has become of the most efficient and of the business hubs in the city of Los Angeles. This means that they have been doing a very good job in making sure that their plan in making it in the American society becomes a reality. The Japanese American society has also been in the lime light when it comes to the industrious nature of their works including working in manufacturing plants and also the engineering of new roads and buildings. They have replaced a number people when it comes to the employment industry, since they are very good at what they do. The American government has also gone and allowed some of the Japanese immigrants a citizenship award for them to become full Americans. There is also the fact that most Americans have become close to the Japanese American counterparts who are helping each other build the country. In the case of Little Tokyo there has been much change since the 1940s and 1970s. It has become a central point for all the Japanese American trading that has been going on for the past few years. The Town has been named one of the most improved and developed town in the country. This can be contributed to the efforts by the Japanese American society investing a lot of money in to the building of the businesses in the town. There is also the fact that most people who are from Japan happen to land in the town where they are able to integrate with people from their own culture and tradition. It is because from then on they can be taken back to the American society and shown the difference in the culture. The Japanese American society has been made of different cultures that have been spread out in the entire country. There is a very large concentration of the Japanese Americans who have come together to make a business center in the city of Los Angeles. There is also a negative attribute that has also been shown when it comes to the crime rates that have also increased and it can also be attributed to the Japanese American society. There is also a growing crime rate in the Little Tokyo where Japanese gang members have been known to reside and operate while selling drugs and committing other harmful vices. The country is then said to be more controlling of these gangs and it is reported by the government that they are handling the situation. The little Tokyo has been a heaven for gangs of Japanese ethnicity and they have been running businesses for many years. They have become more and more bolder and controlling of the government institutions so that they can be able to perform their vices without the worry of getting caught. There are many attractions that can be identified with the Little Tokyo where the Japanese American society is responsible in making the town more popular and also increase the tourist attractions from different parts of the country and even the globe. They have invested in a lot of attractions to make sure that their guests are well entertained. They have also been able to put a more Japanese theme to these attractions so that they can look more authentic and more appealing to the people who come to see them. They also have Japanese restaurants that have been known to prepare food in the Japanese traditions, which is a very important aspect of the whole idea of the Japanese immigration. This makes for a good story when it comes to the needs and the influences of the Japanese culture and tradition to the American society.
