This theory involves the idea of two systems that are either internal controls or remote controls that work against our tendencies to deviate. The theory talks about the weak bonds societies have towards each other. The stronger the bonds, the less a person is going to deviate from social norms. If the bonds are weak, the person tends to deviate from social standards and engage in ill social activities like crimes (Falk, 2010). Strain theory also applies to both of the two topics; this theory states that some social structure within the society may push a person to commit a crime.
