This theory is important for both clients in the context as it emphasis on what clients want to attain through therapy rather than on the problems that make them feel they require help. This approach does not focus on the past but instead focuses on the present and future. It involves asking the clients to envision how the future will be different if the problem is no longer present. There are different models of counselling.For this context, Cognitive Therapy Counseling model is the best for these two clients (Corey, 2011). It is the best model as it makes use of the power of the mind to influence behavior. It is grounded on the theory that previous experiences may adversely affect self-perception as well as the condition, emotions and the ability to deal with certain situations. This model works by assisting the client to identify, question and change self-denigrating thoughts, making it alter habitual responses and behavior as well. Combining with cognitive therapy and explanatory therapy by Cognitive Analytical Therapy, encourages clients to draw on their own resources to develop skills so as to change destructive patterns of behavior (Butler, 2006, pp. 17-31.).Also, negative ways of thinking are handled in depth and treatment is structured and directive. This makes cognitive therapy model to be the best for these two clients.
There are (McLeod, 2013). Cognitive behavioral therapy is one the best perspective in this context. This perspective is based on certain assumptions and beliefs regarding human nature, and it focuses on giving an explanation on a particular part of human experience.
