Extract of sample "Military Suicides as a Relevant Problem"

The matter is that the period of war may seem rather hard for every person. This problem is straightforwardly referred to people who represent military services, as they remain to be directly on the battlefield and take part in hostilities of different types. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is considered to appear as one of the consequences of war (Prior, n.p.). It is regarded as a serious deviation from the psychological norms of a person and may lead to unpleasant implications.
It is important to mention that some people overcome PTSD and can live a normal life after the war. Still, there are a big number of those who cannot leave the terrific memories from the past and become close to society, scared and isolated all the time (Prior, n.p.). Such behavior may lead to suicide, and as it is seen there are a high number of such cases.

Dreazen suggests the idea that military suicides start to be rather common since the year 2001, as “more active-duty U.S. troops have killed themselves than have been killed in Afghanistan, and suicides among reservists and National Guard members are spiking” (n.p.). And to solve this problem somehow it is necessary to understand it.
The widespread opinion is that military suicides should be declined with the end of the war (Dreazen, n.p.). Such a position is considered to be ridiculous as people who have taken part in war have memories and they are forced to live with these flashbacks in their minds. So suicide is highly possible even after the war.
The myth about military suicide is that “the weakest troops are most at risk” (Dreazen, n.p.). Dreazen declined this wrong stereotype that is not confirmed by some arguments.

All facts considered it should e concluded that military suicide is regarded as an important problem for American society. Different military organizations may present their statistical data that includes the number of troops that decide to stop their lives by themselves. The main reason for such disappointing facts is war itself, as this is a completely hard period for every person who is involved in it.
