The House I Live in al Affiliation) The war against the use of drugs in the has led to a transition in the operational activities of drug traffickers. The operations have developed appropriately in response to the policies implemented to curb drug abuse. For instance, the drug traffickers have developed strong networks within the political networks (Sempruch, 2004). The drug trade occurs with the knowledge of the responsible authorities who controls the sector. The relevant agencies should focus on the need to have economic relations with the sources of finance on the war on drugs.

This is to ensure that the sources of finance have the ability to be in a position to provide further funding on consequent drug wars. There needs to be regular strategies and audits on the drug wars projects. This determines the appropriateness of the usage of finances. The community would benefit if the state reinvests the excess money spent on the drug wars, back to the community. The money could be used for the creation of rehabilitation centers for the recovery of drug addicts. This could lead to the creation of nonprofit groups that support people who have made a resolution to stop other criminal activities.

Different youth groups and other community development agencies could apply for the money, in order, to help them finance their various projects. Social workers have a determination to ensure that the people in the community remain well behaved. They strive to ensure that the police and other relevant drug authorities do not conclude that all drug abusers participate in criminal activities (Sempruch, 2004). For instance, they create awareness in the community on the distinction between drug abusers and criminals.

They promote the need to give drug abusers a fair hearing before judging them as criminals. The government is not taking enough measure to end the drug situation in the state. The war on drugs is a complete failure because the government indirectly encourages and supports the agencies responsible for the supply of drugs. The government takes advantage of the ignorance of the society in raising concerns about the drugs concern, profiting from the business. A number of new insights were learnt on the war on drugs.

To begin with, the amount of money spent on the fight against drugs is a lot. This is evident because the use of drugs has continued to be on the increase. In addition, the addiction rates have not changed and the number of deaths related to drug abuse is at its peak. Lastly, it is painful to learn that the cost of drugs has significantly reduced and they have become accessible to more people. There is a solution to the drug addiction problem in the United States. Firstly, the resources on drug wars need to be channeled into efficient and effective programs.

Secondly, the treatment of addiction cases must be done with urgency through the support of relevant authorities. In addition, the youth needs to be provided with accurate information on the negative effects of drug abuse. The justice system should be restored, in order, to eliminate corruption within the legal system (Sempruch, 2004). Lastly, the rules and policies created to ensure that drug traffickers are prosecuted need to be implemented without bias. Reference Sempruch, K. (2004). War on drugs, HIV/AIDS, and human rights.
